By spoiling your ballot you are showing that you do care, you just don't support any of the candidates/the system.



It will never happen whilst people like you display such apathy that they can't even be bothered to show their lack of faith in the system.

Problem is spoilt ballet doesn't actually accomplish anything or more crucially have the same weight as an actual voting option. Democracy doesn't mean anything unless you can actually change it.

Whilst true, I guess I have a naive belief that if suddenly there were several million ballots obviously spoiled on purpose, someone would take notice... probably wishful thinking however

Except what was offered wasnt PR but some stupid idiotic version that neither side were happy with which is why it lost. Some people say that was done on purpose.,

AV would at least ensure more widely popular elected representatives as it's a preference based voting system.

Great is the enemy of good and if people can't at least accept 'better' when no perfect solution exists we get nowhere.

15 million odd people didn't vote in the last election. That could've easily changed the result.

We had a referendum on PR not that many years ago, problem was people were too stupid to understand it and now they moan about how broken the system is!

So you agree the vote is meaningless. A majority voted for an outcome only to be told afterwards you are stupid.

It’s very condescending and not very productive if encouraging people to vote is the outcome desired.

People can vote for one of the worse evils. But many decided not to vote because whoever is going to be in power wont make a bit of difference to their lives.
