And the stupidity is that only 60% of our main channels on Freeview are HD. It's taken years for that to happen. 4k on a TV is utterly pointless. The only time you can use it is with a Blu ray player with 4k DVDs.

But yeah, once a technology is out it isn't long before the old tech is phased out.

We (my lady and I) bought a 4k TV and we've never used the 4k input on it.

I CBA buying stupidly expensive $ony players and over priced royalty earning discs. I mean crap, we still have a DVD player.

Netflix is really the only readily available 4K content, its fairly good too. Watched loads of 4K TV series on there.

AMD are where they are now,to me, because of lies and poor support. Don't tell me, I was dreaming when my 5770s were stuttering like a pile of ass because Crossfire simply didn't work properly. Don't try to refute that, because it's fact.

Try reading my last post there where I state that the 290x is a fine card.

Oh by the way you have your facts wrong. I wasn't disappointed with the 290 in Windows *at all*. In fact I was actually blown away. I was only disappointed because AMD don't have any drivers for OSX. So again, lack of driver support. On the flip side Nvidia have a driver they update weekly as well as a stand alone exclusive Quadro and Tesla driver.

AMD are where they are because of their actions, poor timing and inferior drivers.

I absolutely love AMD as a company but recently they've become discombobulated and poor when it comes to drivers and that has always been my main bone of contention with AMD, especially after they basically totally ripped me off with the 5770s I had that simply didn't work properly. It was a far cry from their advertised up to 100% scaling.

Going by that 390/390X will take on GTX 970 and 3XX VS 980 plus dual 3XX will take on GTX Titan X / 980 Ti !??!?
