+1 This.

Games will get more and more memory hungry, Hell Shadow of Mordor at 1440P I've seen hit 8.3GB

I think people will be using 14nm HBM GPUs long before 12Gb becomes a necessity, at which point the Titan X will be shown as an overpriced last gasp to wring a few more dollars out of 28nm

chroniclard doesn't have a TX, nice try.
oh ok then.

Whyscotty says he finds them cheap and agree's with the chronics statements, same with dicehunter whose about to be an owner.

which goalpost do you fancy moving now? or do you want to just end it on another patronising statement?

Being petty about the fact your financial priorities are different to someone else's makes you look like an idiot.

It is THEIR money, not yours.
so that'll apply equally to chronic, whyscottys and dice hunters statements on other peoples "financial priorities" as well?

As a member of OCUK staff are you seriously calling me an idiot? We are having a discussion where we exchange different points of view on which we (strongly) disagree. Then a member of staff comes and calls a customer an idiot?

The TX exists for people who can actually use the memory, I've seen Shadow of Mordor max settings 1440P use roughly 8GB with the high res texture pack.

I will never understand all the hate towards the Titans.

Cool so that's 2 people, doesn't seem to outnumber those calling TX owners bitter?

My point being it's just pathetic statements from both sides labelling owners or non owners bitter over a purchase.

wasnt aware there was a number limit. you simply asked for a statement from the owners. you got it. I'll refer you to the previous goalpost comment.

er no. you picked up the argument and asked for proof when the accusation was turned around. not for the several comments beforehand going the other way. nice weasel to appear "even handed" though.

heavy drinking in public houses, now there's an expensive hobby.:D ( not to mention the added legal fees and court appearances )

Amen :)

Because people paying 900 quid for a card legitimises that price point and makes the hobby of PC gaming more expensive for everyone.

If no one bought it, it would come down to 599, which is the expected price for a flagship product.

oh ok then.

Everyones yes

It's tiresome and ridiculous that these threads never stay on the relevant topics and the same people allow it to descend the same way everytime.

Those with more sense?

On the subject of sense £ for £ the 290x or 970 are the best cards for performance on the market I highly doubt the 390x will be sub £500 will it give you more than twice the performance? will it beat down a 2 x 290x xfire set up for £400?

Surely it would make more sense to buy that than a 390x? You know becuase it makes more sense.

Well said.

I never understand why people feel they have the right to belittle (or attempt to) what people choose to spend their own money on. The 390X won't be cheap but would it be fair to jump on the buyers and tell them to grab a 285, as that is cheap? I relly enjoy all hardware but shouldn't feel the need to defend my choices to the haters.

Don't forget ruined pants because you slip on a pavement pizza and land in it then have to throw your pants immediately in the bin and run home at 2am without pants and avoid people without looking like a flasher !

Yeah I asked that to prove the point I've made above.

It doesn't matter whether you're an owner or not calling people bitter is rather pathetic.

So is jumping in to defend someone doing so ;)

well no news and endless comparisons do that to a thread.

Yeah I asked that to prove the point I've made above.
Your point wasnt about both teams at all. you were just picking up on Mulp's point whilst ignoring the posts before it because they were what you agree with. You asked that because you didnt think a titan owner "started it" and tried for cheap point scoring, as we can look at on your reply to my comment referencing chronic.

It doesn't matter whether you're an owner or not calling people bitter is rather pathetic.
so why didnt you jump in at chronics comment and the people agreeing there which mulps was repyling to? oh right, you're ridiculously biased. I forget.

So is jumping in to defend someone doing so
do you understand the irony of this comment given your initial post to mulp?

Reading some of the comments in these threads sometimes reminds me of being back in high school -

"You said this"

"Yeah but you said that"

"You can't say that because reasons"

"Yeah but I can say this because you said that about me saying this"

And on and on and on and on.......

Are you speaking from experience? :D:eek::D

How dare you, I did not slip in a pavement stomach pudding whilst I was in Berlin then legged it home to get new pants while wearing only boxers and a t-shirt and then was an hour late for a party......

Allot of people dislike what nvidia have done with the titan brand as it really is what the GTX980 should have been with double vram and a stupid price tag. If people didn't buy these cards then nvidia would still release them but not at the price they have been. Nvidias pricing over the last few years hasn't been great on the top end, take the gtx980 for example we get a 256bit chip which is approx 10% faster than the last gen chip selling for £450-£600 and what many perceive to be the real gtx 980 selling for £900.

I guess people don't like the feeling of being overcharged for a product even if they could afford it. The £900 is not going to break most adults bank accounts as I am sure their monthly outgoings are far more than this, it just makes people question its worth.
