Allot of people dislike what nvidia have done with the titan brand as it really is what the GTX980 should have been with double vram and a stupid price tag. If people didn't buy these cards then nvidia would still release them but not at the price they have been.

I guess people don't like the feeling of being overcharged for a product even if they could afford it. The £900 is not going to break most adults bank accounts as I am sure their monthly outgoings are far more than this, it just makes people question its worth.

Finally a man who gets it

As a member of OCUK staff are you seriously calling me an idiot? We are having a discussion where we exchange different points of view on which we (strongly) disagree. Then a member of staff comes and calls a customer an idiot?

Bit surprised to see that happen myself.

Because people paying 900 quid for a card legitimises that price point and makes the hobby of PC gaming more expensive for everyone.

If no one bought it, it would come down to 599, which is the expected price for a flagship product.

You have a point, but can't stop people spending the their money the way they choose to. End of the day it is them that is being milked, no you. All you can do is wait for the performance you want to drop to the price you are willing to pay.

Well said.

I never understand why people feel they have the right to belittle (or attempt to) what people choose to spend their own money on. The 390X won't be cheap but would it be fair to jump on the buyers and tell them to grab a 285, as that is cheap? I relly enjoy all hardware but shouldn't feel the need to defend my choices to the haters.

I have noticed it works both ways. Some Titan X owners can get offended quickly when someone voices their opinion. Why should you have to defend your choice? You made it and you are happy with it, what more is there to it? :)

I don't care, product gets released and priced.

I then decide if I want it - not a hard choice really.

And you are totally sanguine about whether that product costs 600 or 900, once you've decided you want it? You can still buy something you want and be unhappy about the price (e.g. the house I just bought) and be upset that the product you want wasn't cheaper than it was.

Ok then nobody buy anything on release so the prices come down.

So if the 390x launches at say £600 and that price is right for you then that means all those who don't like that price or can't afford it are bitter?

Reading some of the comments in these threads sometimes reminds me of being back in high school
Kinda going to happen given the format we are talking in when someone asks for proof and then attempts to change position half way through a conversation. It happens in adult world as well.

indeed. within the month we will have news I think although personally I don't have questions just a need for concrete info.

Yes according to several people. dependant on performance and whether their opinions arn't just brand based of course.

I can never understand why on some days the graphics card forum turns into handbags at dawn in a playground.
What are people arguing about today? I can't be bothered reading it all

The Titan was the fastest so I bought it, the 290X was the fastest so I sold the Titan and bought that. The Titan Black was faster so I sold the 290X and bought that. The GTX 980 was faster so sold the Titan Black and I bought that, the Titan X is fastest so I bought that and sold the GTX 980..

If the 390X is the fastest I'll sell the Titan X and buy that.

That's as much though as I put into it.

As the posts above illustrate, being a fanboy for either camp clearly just complicates things and clouds people judgement lol. I'm lucky not to have this fanboy affliction..

Bring on the 390X !!

Yes I know. But if there's nothing to discuss lets just not discuss anything.

I believe Computex will answer everyone's questions :)

Well according to this it wont be at computex.
It wont even be at E3.

AMD is reportedly planning to launch the Fiji Radeon R9 390X at a dedicated launch event on June 24.

There will be a separate event after E3 on the 24th for the 390x, with the other cards being announced on the 18th. (last day of E3)
