I am looking forward to the 390X but if it is near Nvidia pricing then I will not bother.

I'm still sticking to about £499 launch pricing just like the 290X. Fingers crossed.

Except Orangey wasn't talking about me, me and him are saying the same things.. That with HBM come other improvements (Aside from Bandwidth). Lower power consumption, smaller size. Higher memory capacity.

I'm not sure what your referring to with Kaveri, but it's well known it's hamstrung by memory. HBM could also be the solution there as well, but we won't until 2017 lol.

Ha boom, i'm only friendly stirring fella, but there was a thread where I had to state about 3 times that kaveri would barely be an upgrade over richlands igpu, due to shared ddr3.

Hbm in an apu, or even mxm slots for their embedded unsold inventory of pitcairns on a pcb would be a great move too.But it might be too late as intel will possibly trounce amds igp in apus, unless AMD stop being lazy.

Sweclockers are today saying that the 390 & 390X will be rebranded 290/290X with higher clocks, and the new Fiji is only going to be used for a "halo product" to strengthen the brand (like the titan x I guess).

While obviously rumors, Sweclockers are quite often correct with info they get from their sources (whoever they are).

Well if it is $849 then it sort of is a halo product for AMD. Just like the Titan X only a very small portion would pay that for a GPU.

AMD know the market share won't be won back by the very best card anyway.

It looks like the 4GB card will be the first into the shops. The 8GB card has two GPUs and it won't launch at the same time. The Fiji XT 4GB will launch by middle of June, around E3.

Amd must be smoking rocks if they think we should pay near on TitanX money for a card that wins some and loses some vs the TitanX and only comes with 4GB even if it is HBM...

For me to pay that money the card needs to slaughter the TitanX in everything and come with a minimum 8GB, and no skanky AIO bolted on either.

Lets say it is as fast as a Titan X for 15-20% less cash, I'd still go for the Titan for my setup as it's 12GB vs 4GB if the above is true (with 8GB reserved for the x2 card).
