I used to own a Rage II+ and Rage Fury - they really should bring those names back... and not the drivers that went with them which was largely what drove me to nVidia.

Ahh you see I now remember why I rarely post in here... To be fair it used to be full of know it all idiots who will argue about just about anything. It appears little has changed.

Either way you look at it the performance of an IGP is irreverent when talking about discreet GPU's.... Just checking we are talking about discreet gpu's arn't we?

Wonders off back to motors...

No actually the original point was regarding why Intel didn't enter the discrete GPU market, then I mentioned they focused on the iGPU instead then for some reason or other you started comparing it to discrete GPU's.

Ok cya, maybe you can start comparing Porsche's to Citreon C1's.

I never claimed that IGP's were competing with discrete GPU's, that'd be illogical.

And it's a bit rich to say it's full of idiots who will just argue about anything, given how you've come across.

It's also stupidly short sighted to say how IGP performance is irrelevant. Maybe to me and you, but the rest of the world? Who doesn't want to play some GTA 5 on their Surface X etc (Yes, I know I'm capable of using Steam Streaming, and I can play everything on my S3 already, but you'll never beat native)

And since everything is hearsay about the new AMD cards, isn't everything a moot discussion here :p?

Please go back and read... At no point until you started waffling on about IGP's did I mention anything about IGP's apart from to say that IGP's are generally rubbish across the board and that nobody was really interested. Either way I am done here so I shall keep out of something that to be fair I don't really have a massive interest in anymore.

Do you realise how shortsighted that is? Sure, they're not aimed at the elite tier users, but everyone else? The most popular games are probably ran on IGP's and entry tier hardware.

Short sighted in a thread about a premium top of the line video card? Absolutely... Every year I buy hundreds of desktops with IGP's in them and when the time comes I generally have a quick google and see how they have come along. But in this thread it's irreverent.
