Oi, you leave Deb's alone she has been working very hard. she is currently working on the theory of why the "Possible Radeon 390X / 390 and 380X Spec / Benchmark" thread has not been locked, an almost impossible task. :p

No, AMD will see the calls the game executable makes to DX, and that is all you need to optimize the code.

if AMD are too incompetent to optimize their DX drivers based on DX calls then they shouldn't be in this market.

What happens within the Gameswork source code is absolutely irreverent, not least once it is complied it could look completely different.

If a game is calling DX functions and libraries where does Gameworks fit in then? How does the game call the Nvidia libraries? Have you ever written any code or are you just speculating on what is happening in game code?

In the case of what I think AntiBS is saying tessellation is very much comprised of the source data and the end result is that of going through the tessellation pipeline in DirectX. It is a DX technology, so I would agree with AntiBS on that, as calling it something else is a bit 'miffy'. Nvidia can maintain control over the geometry but the technology is not theirs to rename.

It's a little bit of a barrel scrape mind you to point it out. Especially considering that's the only game it was mentioned as being a part of, and it never even arrived. In any shape or form. Ubisoft went silent on it.

It's not DM, it's someone much older :p

I've written a full blown game engine before and have been programing for nearly 20 years! I have also optimized software around closed course libraries, having the source code makes pretty much no difference.

The gameworks libraries call the DX functions. The DX driver will see the call coming form the game and all linked libraries.

Its not quite as simple as that.

Knowing what is going on is useless if that something is using the hardware in an inefficient way and you need to change it at the source, for that you need the source to be open.

You have to apply at Nvidia to get the Game Works libraries.

If i did that telling them the truth, that i'm an unskilled hobbyist what do you guys think they would say to me?

I'd really like to get a look at it.

I can download all the GameWorks libraries and all I did was register.

I don't think they would say anything to you and you just need to register.
