That's from yesterday. wwfc tech or whoever it was said today that it's rubbish.

Doesn't make sense anyway, if a 120mm x 30mm rad can keep it cool, a triple fan design can too.
Has there ever been a triple fan reference design? Whilst double/triple fans are fine for enthusiast/overclocked cards, I am not sure they would give out the right message for a stock reference design. Kinda screams this runs hot!

Like the 7990?

I have to agree with Kaap. Perception is everything in marketing. I like AMD however Nvidia are far better at marketing. It hasn't done Apple any harm. It shouldn't be that way but the majority of people operate like that and it works.

Being fair to AMD though very few people except PC nerds will see this. Their problem is that everyone else asks their PC nerd friend what to buy ;)

That plain white box is probably an outer.

Id bloody well hope so anyway :p

It's like me saying this, I know it's not true, just to try and make NVIDIA look bad:

980TI Review Sample Packaging Revealed!:

Obviously it's just the shipping/outer packaging - though any opportunity to mock AMD and the usual crowd are all over it.

I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to most, the new cards.. or the end of all the daft arguments and comparisons going round in this merry go round thread :o

End? It will be the beginning my friend. This is merely a warmup. :p

And there's no way AMD are sending boxes like that around to reviewers. That's concealing another box.

I think this must have been the most talked/argued about GPU launch in history.

Atleast people care :)

Calm down fella, you will do yourself an injustice :D

Nobody cares about the damned box and just some harmless banter :p

So you are saying that there is a box within a box and possibly a box within those boxes? That's just carzy :D

The boxes for the 980 Ti and Titan X in this thread are the ones NVidia sent to the reviewers, if they can make the effort AMD would be wise to do the same.:)

Any reviewer who's opinion of a product is swayed by the manufacturer sending it to him in a fancy box that the customer will never receive should be embarrassed to be employed.

Are those nvidia cards pictures review sample cards?

It seems crazy but I wouldn't put it past some to actually believe the white box is the final packaging.

Review samples can be put in any box and chances are it will be a plain box if the final artwork is not ready.
