The point is, if it's due out end of this year, then it's highly unlikely 390/x is anything other than a stop gap rebadge than something actually new.

My guess is these are a stop gap either way until HBM2 and process shrink. Whether that's this year or next? I'd guess next.

If all we get after nearly 2 years is a stop gap then I'll be surprised. If it matches a 980ti then that makes all of nvidia cards stop gaps as well, and everyone seems to love those. 390x on the other hand, well I'm not holding my breath

If rumours are true and Pascal gets a Q1 2016 launch or even Q2, AMD's 300 series and Fury are going to have a pretty short shelf life. Just release some cards already.

I sure hope the leak about no HDMI 2.0 is false, otherwise i waited for nothing i would have just got a 980/980ti regardless of performance (DP to hdmi2 adapters still appear to not exist)
as its wccftech ill take it with a plate of salt, a side of salt and salt for dessert for now

390X unboxing:

So going back to the topic of boxes....nice right? :P

Ignore what the guy says, not sure he knows what he is talking about lol, but nice of him to do it.

Amazing how so many grown adults are so clueless. The guy in the unboxing video thinks he has got the top of the range AMD card and is wondering why it doesn't say 4096bit on the memory specs...wtf

Also how has he got this early when it's not supposed to have been released yet.
