Not happening.

Get that info from your imaginary friend down at the pub did you ? ;)

Unless you work for AMD you won't have a single clue about what they're doing and what their plans are.

No offence mate but they're not going to tell a forum dweller their multi million dollar business plans.

Is there any indication when these are coming at all? IE - would it be a bad move to be buying an Nvidia in the next few weeks?

If you have a need then buy now, ie to get your games to run the way you want them to.

If you are just after something shiny and new then this is a good time to wait as there will be some interesting changes in the first 6 months this year.:)

it's 20fps faster in crossfire than the 295X2 at 4K ...........i read about it earlier on, i forgot where i read it cause i've just drunk a few beers

Meh if it's true it doesn't seem worthwhile upgrading from a single card solution/295X2, Might wait for the 4xx series depending on stats etc...

Will trust you info later, on a boat to France atm so will lose net.
Didn't meet him in a pub.

Bug, wasn't on about getting a 4\8 CPU. Was on about getting a 3930k. They go for a a smidgen over £200.

I didn't know you still had your x58 setup, two posts later in agreed and said the xenon is a good buy.

I didn't keep the X58, i liked the 930 but the motherboard was horrid.

For the moment i'm actually quite happy with the 8350.

Spending £200 on a use CPU has me giping, even if it is a 6 core Intel.

On a Good Asus X58 the Xeon 5650 is a good chip for £70, Sandy Bridge IPC performance, 4.4Ghz overclocks, 6 cores, 12 threads.... its a monster.

The performance difference between it and a 3930k (Witch is also a 32nm Sandy Bridge) is probably marginal at best.

AMD : We See An Opportunity To Gain Graphics Share in 2015

Thats very nice, but what worries me a little is this line.

we’ll talk more about them as we go through the year

That reads a bit like "2015 is a year to talk about whats coming, release the products some time late down the line, when NV Volta is just around the corner, soon after the fun game of playing catchup starts again"

Yeah it's like we've said before, AMD have great vision / products but timing is also important. If they come to late Nvidia would have saturated the market with Maxwell and already taken all that market share / profit and then Nvidia moving onto even better stuff. Although if AMD's new arch cards are a big leap they might be able to compete with what comes after 970 / 980..

Have a feeling it's going to be a late summer release for AMD's new arch stuff, maybe some kind of Hawaii refresh before then to take on 970 / 980..

Be good to see something new soon, even if it is just a refresh..

There is no sense of urgency about them.

Look at the way Nvidia do it compared with AMD, Nvidia publish road maps years in advance, complete with what to expect, and make a big song and dance about it.

That's not a criticism, it's simply citing good marketing, its a good tool to drum up passion for your brand as well as inspire confidence in it.

By comparison AMD not only ignore the user base and their own investors hunger for information when they are looking to AMD for any sign of life, but when you push them on the topic they simply say "we will talk about it later"

Talk later? So no new products later?

There is a reason why a tech company might like to hide their developments from the competition, like Nvidia.

But it doesn't really work, Nvidia are capable of reacting to AMD.
What's more, i have my suspicions that AMD's development secrecy is about as effective as a Pasta Strainer Bucket Hack.
Nvidia know what AMD are doing before their own AIB partners.
