Volta is not coming until 2017 and maybe not even then as the Oak Ridge system gets first dibs.

Anand made an article about mid last year, Nvidia confirming they had dropped Micron Stacked V-Ram on volta, due to spiraling costs and development over runs.
Had instead opted for HBM, yes. Hynix/AMD's HBM.

And that, i'm sure it said, was coming in 2016.

Yes, on Pascal.

Having some good peeps in Sapphire, lemme tell you: no 3xx is yet to be done. It's further than you think and so is 980Ti and Titan II, or whatever they're going to call it

Hmmm looked like AMD AIB partners don't have 380X/390X cards yet, no custom coolers designs done yet. It will not launch in Feb/March 2015. Further than you think? Hmmm May/June or July/Aug....???

Nvidia will be wait to launch 980Ti and Titan II whenever AMD will be ready to launch 380X/390X.

There will be new AMD cards this year as they can not afford not to launch them.

NVidia will launch GM200 cards this year also but if AMD don't push them into it they will still launch when sales of GTX 970s and 980s start to dry up.

If true then it looks like nVidia pulled a masterstroke in moving Maxwell to 28nm and launching when they did. Kudos

I'm not too fussed about AMD launching asap, more concerned about them getting it right. Not like I'm short on graphical power for 1440p :D

People do need consider one other factor - the commercial markets. AFAIK,the Hawaii based cards are relatively competitive against what Nvidia has in that market ATM,and I suspect it will take Nvidia to launch the GM200/GM210 for a R9 290 series successor to be released. Remember Nvidia is using GK110 and GK210 based cards in those markets for the top SKUs.

However, its the lower end of the market where AMD,probably needs to be more weary of. The GTX960 and GTX960TI will be released soon, and Nvidia has generally better offerings in laptops with Maxwell.

So hopefully we might see the R9 370/370X and R9 380/380X sooner rather than later.

It was anands reports on Gtc 2014, they iust say they are surprised to see nvidia announce HBM support.
Nvidia never announced support for micron, some people assumed. The only announcement nvidia made regarding stacked ram was HBM.
If you read Anands 2013 GTC article on volta it doesnt mention micron at all.

Radeon Rx 300: Bermuda, Fiji, Grenada, Tonga and Trinidad

3DCenter has some new information about potential codenames for Radeon 300 series. The information is partially based on rumors and earlier speculation, but also on recent update from undisclosed manufacturer. This is actually the first time we learn about Grenada, so I believe it’s worth taking a look.

Below is a list of new graphics cards. These are potential codenames and configuration for Radeon Rx 300 series.
The information is gathered from various sources, including 3DCenter, VR-Zone and ours.

Hope these specs are close to true cuz im waiting for the 390, and going to that from a 7950 will be a massive boost :D

Glad i stuck with my 7950 which is still doing a great job in games for me :)

Ok :)

R9 390X: Date is wrong, probably Q4 2015 along with the R9 395X2, too big to be on 28nm and too early for new node

R9 390: As above ^^^ and a little odd, i don't think it will exist.

R9 385X: shaders are right for a step up on 28nm, but 2GB of Buffer is odd for a card with that much power, should be 4GB.

R9 380/X: Hawaii refresh for the mid range, yep, believable.

R9 370/X: again yes for the low end.

R9 360/X: 7850/70 specification but with the Tonga architecture for the Budget end.
