I really hope the r9 370x is not just a rebadged r9 285 and actually has the full 2048 shaders at least otherwise the sub £200 market is going to stagnate for another year.

I do also hope the r9 380 does have improved power consumption over the r9 290 via firmware and hardware changes.

A bigger question is whether the rebadged parts will be fully dx12 enabled.

I hope if it does have improved power consumption that it doesn't gimp the card like the 970. The 290x only draws on average 60/70 watts more than a 970 so I'd sooner have that than low usage/fps problems.

Well this is misinformation, AMD have said no such thing, it was Oxide Games who said this.

They are trying to pin it on AMD so people rage when it's nothing. Wouldn't be surprised if NV pays people in the press and elsewhere to do this.

Meanwhile Nvidia's "big bang finale" and countless other fake-outs go unmentioned. They get a free pass.

it'll be the same high power consumption, noise and heat as the 290X, dont forget that it's a Rebrand :p

basically they're selling off the 290X real cheap right now, rebranding the remaining stock that they cant sell and upping the price again in a months time :D in the firm knowledge that their fanboys will still buy it, you have to ask yourself this......are AMD smart or their fanboys Dumb ??

FTFY.

:p

Very unlikely

If it is the flagship card it will have rough the same power consumption.

When GM200 finally shows up it will have pretty high power consumption too.
I meant the R9 290 rebadge - not the SKU above it.

I'd wait until they release the cards. If the leaks turn out to be true, and the 290X suddenly competes against the 980, then they have some really good badges to slap on the old cards.

It won't be a rebrand as it does not take about 8 months to do that.

Yes, but to replace my cards i feel that it has to be something pretty special and one card only..

then i can increase my PCs overclock to what it once was............because it had to be reduced due to SLI........... 2 months later

.....is there a 380X  because it's only silly rumours, it could easily be a 390...........390X...........395X2, because this makes the most sense, if so it'll be great for everyone

AMD arent going to say anything about these silly benchmarks that we keep seeing, because it has no relevance to future cards or no effect on their business plan...........it's just trolling, but the only thing that i might have been a bit worried about, is that ugly 390X gpu cover that looks too much like the 295X2...........so yes AMD probably noticed that !!!!!!

that is quite a clever Troll for sure :D

What are you running the cpu at now, because tbh even at stock i havent found a 4790k to hold back a pair of 780's, 970 sli isnt that much difference from them. I do still run at 4.7ghz daily, but even thats overkill.

i backed mine off because what you said to me 2 months ago, remember ;)

it's at 4.6 down from 4.8 down from 5.0............the cpu never got hot, it's Prime that killed it, plus i had the volts too high back then anyway

the rig became unstable as soon as SLI was fitted and deffo settled down again once the overclocks were reduced
