Me too. I rarely find the cpu to be a bottleneck these days so I don't see any value in a potentially noisy and hot over clock. I might give it a go in a couple of years if it starts struggling though.

Overclocking the CPU tends to help with games that have very high fps, it does not do much where there is a lot of detail in the games like crappy console ports.

My point was that with some crappy ports it doesn't matter if the cpu is overclocked or the gpu is overclocked, in other words you can't polish a turd

Mythbusters have proved you can polish a turd .

My 3570k is clocked @ 4.2GHz and peaks at 60 degrees. If I want 4.3GHz I need a nudge more volts and temps shoot up by 5 degrees... for 100MHz? Not worth IMHO

Of course you can polish a turd

Freeze it to about -100c and start polishing, simple.

You can polish liquid Nitrogen if you cool it enough to form a solid.

My 24/7 speed on my 5930k is 4375Mhz and 3000Mhz on the RAM.

After 90 minutes of 'Dying Light' the max CPU temp was 56 Degrees.

I can't wait any longer on this R9 270. I'm going to swipe back the 980 from the other PC and use that until new cards arrive. trust me 270 @ 1440P is not a nice experience.. Whereas 270 @ 1080P isn't that bad.. makes no sense using a 270 @ 1440P when the 980 is just sitting there lol..

Having to go back to the dark side is not good though.. Have that sense of dirty shame that comes with it
