i was lurking around on another forum out in cyber space, and came across a thread where some poor dude was being flamed to hell for being a n00b as his post count was very low, although he had been a member of that forum for a few years, and since this is my favourite forum, and the one where i spend most time, i thought i would broach the subject here ...

my post count isnt very high, because i dont always have something to say on a particular subject, although i do read most threads or posts in here, and take in whats being said, and also because i have a personal policy of not answering with

it wasnt that high 'pre-nuke' either

so whats import? your length of service, or your post count? and why are some people obsessed with how many posts they have made?

Well if we had a thing saying "Race" then it would be called racism, so we have post count, and the higher your post count, the bigger your penis. Everyone knows that having a bigger penis is better.

Basically, neither are better and I don't see how they can be.
Maybe if we had "Amount of posts viewed" then it would show something :)

It's how you come across, if you remember Harley/Sq, he only post when he has something to say and it's usually done with good reasoning in his argument and is articulated.

when i do post, i try to be to the point and polite. things like

'old. been posted before' REALLY rip my knitting ...

i guess my post count is low, because i try to refrain from smartass answers

See, you don't have many posts, but I always notice your name when you do post. Make of that what you will.

thank you

I always notice you to.

It must be the Australian thing :p

Off topic: Canberra you say? Wasn't in Bendigo?

Well since you're there make sure you check out the science centre museum thing and the War museum :)

Years are irrelevant as you could have registered in 2002 and never viewed the forums for 3 years. Saying that post count is completely irrelevant as some people just post drivel like "ahahaha" "rolfmaopoo" etc (Like Zefan ;)) in every post. You are known for what you say, how much of an impact you have on the forums and by how annoying your sig is :p

Are you suggesting that everyone with a high post count posts a lot of filler / drivel?

Quality of the post is more important, I only really post in Sports and here now, when I first joined I was more concerned with the hardware section.

I did have about 2000 more posts but I made a thread letting everyone know that "I am the eggman, cu cu cuchew" and was reset to 0.

Well seeing as I don't even know either of those figures with any kind of accuracy due to the forum resets over the years I guess I'd have to say that neither of them are important to me.

Even as I type this I'm thinking that I've no idea what my current post count is, I think it's somewhere in the 5-8000 region but I couldn't be any more specific than that without looking at it.

did you misread what i posted?

i was very particular to mention any names, or infer that anyone in particular talks drivel, infact i didnt mention it at all !!

infact i made a point of writing about myself, and not anyone else ....
You posted this:-

You are clearly implying that those with high post counts only have a high post count because a large number of their posts are low quality ones, aka filler or drivel.
