Post count ... or years of service?

Your post count makes no difference. Your status makes no difference.

I've seen people with <50 posts engage in an articulate discussion with veteran members and come across as good as them. It's superficial and anybody who thinks that the number underneath their nickname means anything important, then they're deluded and quite frankly, sad. :)

arent there occasions when you can even 'buy' posts of other members for charity?

What that most people who post more than an average of 1000 posts a year post rubbish?

are you trying to wind us up mate?

people with a higher post count, simply have more to say, wether its drivel or articultate posts, mean nothing to me, i am not here to judge anyone, or validate anyones opinion

and quite frankly, your starting to sound very argumentative, like you have a complex, and are fulfilling your own musings, by YOUR very posts in this thread !!

i mearly asked a questions, i am not here to damn anyone

Matters not the length of service, or post count does it....simply surviving the heated dicussions and avoiding that permaban status by page 6 is what it is all about ;)

Most people have grown tired of the pointless bickering amongst the usual suspects and gone off to find something interesting to read long before page 6 ;)

Well said, totally agree

I agree but has anyone said otherwise in this thread?

Does it matter? I'm just stating my opinion on the matter.

What a number of people HAVE said is that those with a high post count (and presumably a high post count per day) must be someone who spams or posts a lot of rubbish otherwise their count would not be as high as it is. That is bound to get people's backs up :)

I haven't seen anybody directly say that. :)

I think there are post count donations or something. Exchanging worthless numbers for useful donations is one of the good things that come out of this forum. :)

No, you seem to be doing a good job of winding yourself up :) If you truly did not mean to imply what I inferred from your post then I can only suggest taking more care over what you write in future.

Do you have a complex about people disagreeing with you on a web forum? Does having your view challenged cause you undue upset? It seems like it.

You are clearly implying that those with high post counts only have a high post count because a large number of their posts are low quality ones, aka filler or drivel.

I think he's correct to a degree. The majority of the high post users do post absolute crap. You can include youself in that if you like.

There are a few exceptions of course, but they are few and far between.

proper punctuation and grammar is what indicates a good poster to me.its not the be all and end all but posts writen in the style of this one just seem lazy and inarticulate. their grammar is usually indicative of they're posting strategy; a spammer or troll

This just irks me a bit. :p

Post count is meaningless, and I agree with the op. It's also obtained from replying to yourself rather than using the edit function.

The name of the posters is much more important.

I tend to read the posts from the people who I know will have something to say, and just skim the others.

not a bit of it. i welcome healthy debate and discussion. i do have a problem with someone basically trying to start an e-fight in the style of "did you spill me pint" when i mentioned no names, or implied anything, and singling me out, when others have basically said the same as me!!

your attack is nothing short of personal, and is the EXACT reason why i read a lot of the stuff here, but dont post a lot. but then again, its always the minority, who spoil it for the majority ... all i wanted to da was ask for peoples opinions. What your saying doesnt upset me in itself, its the fact that your basically saying to me "no you didnt say that, you said this", when i have clearly explained what i meant

mods, can this be locked

By saying often you must also mean most, because there can't be more than what, 20? posters with 5-figure post counts who didn't buy them in an auction.
My, aren't we argumentative this morning? When did I ever say I was only talking about people with 5-figure post counts? I simply said "high post counts", which is obviously subjective and open to interpretation. My interpretation is those members who have, say, 2000+ post counts.

In accordance with your own rules I pronounce you a poor poster ;) :p
