Post how many PCs you run 24/7 at home ?

2 at the minute. One I always leave on for irc / downloads etc, but the other is a DC that I set up about a week ago, because I'm studying for my MCSE. That will be removed once all my exams are out of the way.

Only 1 at the mo. Rebuilding the other machine for virtualisation duties...
current uptime:

main/gaming 6600 oc'ed to 3.6gig water cooled, 24/7
file server, 8 x 500gig hd's, raid 5, 3800+ x2, 24/7
lounge media pc, x2 4800+ stock, 24/7
tv server, 4 tv cards, 3 gig P4, 24/7

netgear 48 port gig managed switch, 24/7
draytek adsl modem, 24/7

I should really turn them off when not in use, however they are less likely to go wrong if left on. Only hardware issues I have had over the years has been new stuff that has just been dodgy from the word go.

Richie.

None, my desktop goes into standby when I'm away for a short while and hibernation overnight. My Xbox has XBMC installed with a 120GB drive so I just FTP all my video over rather than streaming it from a computer I'd have to leave turned on.

2 pretty much 24/7, laptop i leave plugged in to the mains all the time and just close it when i dont want to use it. main pc i just flick the fans down to slowest speed at night, its never doing anything but the ambient whirr helps me sleep unless the scsi array decides to index

plus im in halls and want to make the most of my £90/week i pay to live here:p

btw how are people getting their comps to hibernate, there is no option for me on shutdown?

Power options > Enable Hibernation.

I'm down from Three to Two servers now. One running S2003 Active Directory, WSUS, WDS, DNS and WINS, the other now amalgamated from separate webserver and exchange boxes to one larger box.

Current Uptime of the Domain Controller is 149 days

6 of them.

1 Folding 24/7.
1 Home Server 24/7.
1 Mine for work and then downloading through night so 24/7.
1 for the missus for work and sometimes downloading.
1 Daughter uses in evening then downloading.
1 for the old folks 16 hrs a day on Pogo.

I need my own grid.

I'm what I would class as a "hardcore geek" and even I run no machines 24/7 anymore. I used to run my server, but since getting a 24mbit connection there's just no need. Nothing I download requires a 24/7 connection thesedays.
