An excellent and inventive suggestion, sir, with just two tiny drawbacks:

a) We don't have any jet-powered rocket pants;

and

b) there's no such thing as jet-powered rocket pants outside the fictional serial "Robbie Rocket Pants."

late 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, otherwise we miss all of the older classics:

- Dad's Army
- Porridge / Going Straight
- Some Mothers' Do Av Em
- Open All Hours (First series & Pilot)
- Fawlty Towers
- Are you being served
- The good life
- To the Manor Born

Red Dwarf is right up there with the older classics but it doesn't quite touch Dad's Army for me.
