Need to sort the back brake out for the MOT, and the front indicators (previous owner) and then it should pass. Still has some left though, oh and change the exhaust for the standard one (and this is too loud for everyday use anyway!!) :)

I also have the other wing mirror to go on it too, it is currently at my Fiancée's house at the moment though (along with the scooter)

I got some Renthals today, a complete **** to fit (not reeeeally enough flat bit of bar, so my grips are now a bit shorter :/), but I like the way they look and feel :D

Just need some new bar ends, I didn't know but the ones on the bike already screwed into welded inserts in the stock bars.

I want bar end mirrors next, the stock ones are poo and for the Zs, bar end mirrors are meant to be far better.

My 999R after a bit of a clean :D Original carbon fibre panels removed and stored in bubble wrap cos they cost a fortune to replace and new carbon QB bodywork fitted.

A work of Art :) Very nice mate!

That lock's barely worth putting on if you put it round the exhaust pipe like that dude, put it round something more permanent like the wheel :)

It is currently at my Fiancée's house and that is the only chain available to use (it is her Brothers)... :(

Have you seen the CRG Lanesplitters? They've got a pop-out design so you can pull them in for filtering. There was a set on a GSXR I rode a while back and they were utter genius, you can see everything but they're never in the way. Just a wee bit vibey at high speeds though.

I have had a gander at them, they're quite expensive but look very good.

I'm considering taking the Renthals off already - I like the sweep and width of them, but my switchgear just barely fits on, and theyr;re vibey as ****. I've even filled them with lead pellets to try and keep it down but it's not really helped. You can't get bar end weights for them as the wall thickness means you can only use Renthal bar ends :(

I'm using MX grips too as they're the only ones that fit. It's a shame, because if I put it back to how it was I will have wasted about £80 including getting new bar ends for the stock bars. Pain in the bum, but I'm gonna give them a week to see how I feel. I'll deffo look into the lanesplitters though, I didn't know you could get them over here :)

Yeah, very pricey aren't they... I'm thinking of turning mine naked and it wouldn't fit through the garage door with oberons on :D

It seems really shortsighted that the Renthals are like that though, do they offer different widths? I've never seen that with them before, not to say it doesn't happen but it's pretty obvious and I'd usually notice that sort of thing

Been watching this thread for ages but never had any decent pics to post. But after a little ride out the other night I took some! My GPZ: http://www.bikepics.com/members/St0rmer66/02gpz500/

Edit: actually the first one (on the most left) was waiting for the break-down van to arrive by the side of a road in Pontefract. Turned out to just be water in the carbs so it was fixed that night and the other 3 were when I went for a ride out the next day.

You need a better camera! I've seen this bike and those pics dont do it justice at all - its in pretty stunning condition.

Glad you're back on the road mate - I should be up for that lakes trip on the 29th

They do yeah, but I wanted to keep as close to the stock width as possible, which with renthals means less straight bit :(

It was just taken on my phone and it doesn't handle bright sunlight too well. Despite it looking dull in the pictures it was actually really sunny and warm!

Glad to hear it, we can go up to Devils Bridge together.
