Post your bikes thread

Will post a soundclip soon.

Nice really, really deep toned bass sound off them. Now sounds like an italian V-Twin should do so!!!.

Sounds kinda like this fellas Renegades, albeit he has carbon ones and mine are Titanium:-

@helpimcrap...look forward to seeing the pics. :)

just out of interest Draeger - how much did they set you back for a twin system? :)

£300 from eBay m8.

The Renegades ( and I've no doubt you have done your homework and know this already ) come in Two flavours.

2-2 systems and 2-1-2 systems, as in they get split into 2 at the link pipe.

Mine are 2-1-2.

El cheapo way under the half a K mark to get a twin pipe set up without spending around grand on a true 2-2 Akra/Renegade/Arrow/Gianelli system.

Sounds just as good though!!!

Still wondering whether I should have some link pipes made up to mount my Akkers as high level on my RSV. I measured the can lengths and they'll fit. Just need the links.

Think I shall talk to some pipework companies and have them made.

That is beautiful.

I appreciate that so much because my Bros is completely standard.

I've neglected her so much lately, i would love to spend some money on it because its a great bike.

Wow, that Bros looks awesome.

Is it the 400? What have you done and if you don't mind how much have you spent to get it this far? I fancy a bike again and fancy a commuter bike.

Liking that Bros!!!

And the 999 looks stunning too.

Posted this elsewhere on the forums in a seperate thread but thought I would put it in here as well, after all it is the Bikes thread. :p

My Aprilia RSV Mille no longer has the Blueflame race can it had on it a few pictures back - now fitted in the last few days with Renegade Twin Highmount exhausts

Cheers gents, liking those Renegades Draeger, mate had a pair on his VTR years ago, sounded like the world was ending, awesome! :D

achingly beautiful

Looking good helpimcrap

Are you getting the top fairing done the same?. Adding decals back onto it afterwards?.

If so, I have a few number board top fairing decals going spare if you are interested?. No charge of course!!!

They are not Aprilia originals, but very good quality copies I had a friend who runs a graphic design business knock up.

The decal kits come in 4 parts, you apply the white number board around the headlight first, then a zig-zag on each side and finally the "RSV Mille" decal on the numberboard.

*EDIT* I just had a look and I don't think I have any more of the "RSV Mille" small decals left. :(

I will have another search and see if I can come up with any more, I think I might have a few more kicking around. I've also got the "zig-zag" stripes in red if grey wont suit?.

They are a bit fiddly to apply because of the curved surface of the top fairing so I would warm them with a hair drier first and also spray warm water with a tiny amount of soapy bubble in it onto the fairing so you can slide them about easily and get them sitting correctly. Then use a wee squeegy or something to make sure they stick down well and you get any bubbles or trapped water out from underneath them.

Ideally you would want to give the top fairing a few coats of clear laquer over the top of the decals to protect them.

Anyway, here's a quick picture of the decal kit:-

Email me your details and I will pop it in the post for you m8, if you need them, if they will be any use to you.

cheers Draeger but dont think there will be any standardish stickers on it. :) if i was going standard i'd take you up on the kind offer. :)

sticker wise i'm thinking mirror effect on the bottom fairing with RSV cut out (so it shows matt black). then Aprilia in Mirror above the bottom panel. there will be Mille on the seat unit as well but that might be somethign else... dunno yet. see how it looks when it's done. i have someone who works in the graphics business (who used to be Max Biaggi and Luca Cadalora's GP mechanic! ) and he will no doubt give me his input on it. :)

this is a better pic...

entire fairing will be done in matt black including mudguard/tank/hugger etc. will have stomp grips on the tank and thinking about ditching the mirrors and replacing with blanking plates (polished alloy). Indicators will either be going or will be replaced with clear lights and rear brake lights will be going LED or possibly just clear lens. just need another tank to spray up really before i can do the full hog. :)

Have you thought about putting a CBR front end on? It seems to be a popular mod with the bros.

Looked into it, the earlier CBR600 F2's has identical internals and stanchions to the Bros, only difference is being able to run twin discs (not neccessary though, quite easy to loft the rear wheel with the standard setup :D ). The later CBRs have cartridge forks but the speedo isn't taken off the front wheel so you need to change the clocks to something like a vapour or similar, but they have issues. You can fit pretty much any Honda front end on, even the latest blade and this years 600 USD forks and yokes go straight on.

I've seen a couple of Bros with USD forks on, very nice, I just think they look a little bit too big and bulky on such a slim bike.

Fog

PS I forgot to add I've got CBR600 preload adjusters fitted on my Bros forks, they just swap straight over ;), compression and rebound is internal so thats a bit more fiddly.

Yeah, they sound absolutely amazing!!!

Not got around to grabbing a vid clip of mine as yet, but these ones on Youtube sound exactly the same as mine:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FocfUkdDtX4

helpimcrap......no worries m8, best of luck with the rest of the update to the bike.

Sure sound nice. Much like the sound of the Akkers on mine. Mine sound a little deeper though. Maybe the carbon wrap deadens the sound a little?

The Aprilia bikes look fantastic. I hope one day i can own one. My insurance renewal is coming up in september, will be 20 then, but i cant imagine an RSV would be cheaper to insure than a CBR 600.

I have heard a few RSV's before, and with aftermarket cans on em they just sound fantastic!
Would probably suit me more as i never take my CBR on full throttle, so i dont get to experience the real noise of it.

Yep, thats right m8 - Austrian made Rotax V60 degree 990cc lumps.

Incredibly reliable power units, very rarely do you hear of anyone having any hassles with them.

The new V4 Superbike that Aprilia are due to launch in the future will have Aprilia's first "in-house" designed engine fitted to one of their superbikes.

They are also campaigning the new V4 in next seasons World Superbikes.
