Steve Coogan has been mentioned a couple of times and he is someone I don't find funny except when he is in the guise of Alan Partridge. That character makes me laugh.

same here

I'm surprised Harold Lloyd - Hanging on a clock face (Safety Last) only got one vote from BigStan.

Charlie Chaplin eating a boot for Christmas Dinner?

Buster Keaton on his train (The General) Absolutely brilliant.

Laurel and Hardy singing "On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine"

Marx Bros Duck Soup, a Day at the Races etc.

Good Thread

Can't believe Harry Hill is mentioned on this thread

Harry Hill is clean and funny. And his TV burp show was hillarious family viewing. Really clever stuff :)

Tim Vine - nothing but puns which vary from genius to dreadful, seen him live three times and got to meet him a few months back.

Well most people who've been in Only Fools and Horses of course:

David Jason
Nick Lyndhurst
Lenard Pearce
Buster Merryfield
John Challis
Roger Lloyd Pack
Ken Macdonald

and of course John Sullivan who wrote it- the best comedy writer of ALL time :)

John Cleese is also a very funny guy, especially in fawlty towers

Richard Pryor 1940 - 2005.

Can't safely link to anything he did ( Swearies ).

If you saw him last night , BBC2, then you know what i mean.

***.

Also Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy (Raw and delirious)

OMG THREAD BUMP!!

Ricky Gervais
Aziz Ansari
Nick Swardson

I remember looking forward to Gervais' radio show once a week on XFM many many years ago. Then following his career onwards and seeing him become recognised as a world renowned name in comedy. He seems effortlessly funny and even though he jests with faux pas material, his head's in the right place.

Nick Swardson needs to put down the 360 pad and get some DVD's released. I'm in creases watching his stand up.

I'm also a really big fan of the Louis CK direction in comedy now, selling their DVD's for $5.
