High end.

Mid range.

I myself am looking for a Conroe system with a E6400 Nvidia7950 2 GB DDR2 and PSU DVD RW etc etc..

Im giving my Newly built Opteron system to my son :)

What a brilliant way to justify the upgrade to the wife..

Might give the existing computer (P4 3ghz - built from parts from OCUK) to my uncle or move to my business. Or just keep it as an extra computer at home. I'll use some bits from it for this new build e.g. harddrives, dvd rw drives etc.

New build:

E6600 2.4 ghz processor - ordered from OCUK
2GB or 3GB ram - ddr2 6400 ones but not sure what make yet
Nforce 590 SLI based motherboard (when they come)
Ninja cooler
Geforce 7600GT
New PSU and Case

I also have another 250GB WD 8Mb cache SATA I drive for storing data on which will be going in and all the above paired with my 24"Dell.

The above is partially funded by the sale of my old base unit. Have to make do with the laptop for now till the cpu/mobo/HSF arrive though :(

Hope to hit the 3Ghz with the above setup :)

In bed with your sister
I'm going away to Egypt on Monday to work for 4 weeks. By the time I get back in early August, people will have had a chance to try out all of the various hardware and I'll get a better idea of what I'm going to buy.

I intend buiding an "ultimate" gaming rig if these chips are as good as they appear to be.

Something along the lines of:

X6800.
Either Badaxe or DFI board.
2Gb PC8000 RAM (not sure which brand yet).
2 X1900s in X-Fire.
2x150Gb Raptors (raid0).
Lian Li PC61.
Tagan TG1100-U95 1100W .
2x DVD RW.
Mitsumi FA 404M 7in1 USB 2.0 Floppy & Media Drive.
Phase for CPU (probably Vapochill LS or maybe Prometia).
Watercooling for gfx.
30" Monitor.

The monitor, watercooling and phase depend on getting my caravan sold - if it gets sold whilst I'm away, I can get everything when I get back, if not the three items above will have to wait until it does sell.
