No photos. But yesterday I was taken out in an BMW i3. Was quite surprised by it! Great acceleration, far roomier inside than the outside gives away.

One thing though, was the cabin noise. We got to 100kmh and the noise inside from wind was quite noticeable.

This was coming from driving around in a newish VW Polo the previous two days on highways at 120kmh which I was surprised at how quiet it was!

Considering the i3 I'm going to guess would have been more expensive, I expected better from it? Also on the flip side I expected worse from the Polo!

That aside the tech is going in the right direction. I'd love a go in an i8!

Couldn't have been the 1.0 Polo, had one in Portugal and above 3k RPM (which it needed to be everywhere) sounded like a million cats being put through a food processor.

Think the wind noise is more noticeable due to the absence of engine noise.

How was the noise from the motor itself? Would love to sit in one. Are they silent?

Silent at lowish speeds and like an electric wooooshing noise when giving it some beans. Not noticeable when cruising along though.

Not sure which engine Ana's has but I think it's the 1.4 TFSI standard VAG lump. Your last point is also something I considered but then wind noise is still noticeable on rubbish cars...soooo...

They're pretty bland to sit in, I'm sure they're nice enough to drive but at c. £30 sticker they're bonkers money imo

My thoughts exactly. 20k and you would be more reasonable. But 30k is crazy.

No pics but saw and heard a lovely old TVR V8s (I'm lead to believe ) the yesterday, nice grumble on it :D

Today an annoying one tho, on the way to work, going down so on the less driven roads to try and cut out traffic and lights.... There was someone's vw golf parked up in the middle of the road. Looked like they came out of the junction, drove 5ft while turning and then left it there. Thought someone was blocking as there had been an accident but nope.... Just someone left their car there. Luckily there was just enough space to drive around the back of the car to get past. Right pain as it's near a school so any available curb had a car parked next to it.

What annoys me is why they don't do coiled cables like on a lot of the earlier cars. My Smart ED had a coiled cable so it didn't sit in a pile on the floor like that one!

It locks, just like other EVs. The BMW i3 was the same, once the handshake had completed and it started charging, the cable locks in place and can't be removed until the car is unlocked.
