LP5000S Anniversary if I'm not mistaken.
I had the opportunity to buy one of these about 20 years ago when they could be bought for buttons (well, £50k but compared to today's money; buttons). I couldn't quite fit one in my garage and so would have had to build a new one which the Mrs of the time vetoed. Still gutted about it now. The one that got away.

Sorry to be an ass but that is the Quattrovalvole. The Anniversary looks like this.

Surely the modern rep mobiles are those that trace their lineage directly from the ones mentioned? So you know...Insignias, Astras, Mazda 6's, Mondeos

Naa, they all have "posh" cars these days. Go to somewhere like We Buy Any Car and see miles and miles of ex-fleet BMWs, Mercs, Audis :P

While I think some do, I don't think they're all over the place just yet. There are probably more than "back in the day" but I for one have seen shockingly bad and aggresive driving on quite a wide range of vehicles, Vauxhall, Fords even quite a few Priuses.
The one think I can't help noticing is that if you're trying to pull out from a side street in an Audi or BMW and the traffic is just constantly flowing, you have no chance whatsover from the odd Vauxhall, Ford, Renault, Toyota or the like. The first or second BMW/Audi/Mercedes or... van will always slow down and flash their headlights though. :D

Usually battered old wrecks only these days, the 4 door estates aren't desirable that's the trouble. I was looking at a tidy one for £600.

I can't remember the last time I saw one, this one has clearly been loved by its owner, I imagine it's pretty crap to drive, but respect to them, not sure I'd have the series 2 bonnet vents though.

Yep if you want to get let out of junctions more, you need to drive something eye-catching or uncommon. People want to see what it is :p

I know someone who owns a huge 1940s classic (can't remember what it is, probably built from old battleships) they hire out for weddings. Take that in to town and traffic grinds to a halt to let you through lol
