Yea, they didn't even give it a boxer rumble to make up for it. Disappointing.
Being incredibly pendantic, but it technically wouldn't have one anyway as it doesn't have a boxer engine AFAIK.

It would have been quite funny if they'd made it sound like an Impreza. Would have all the things that some people dislike rolled into oneIt’s the flat 6 downsized and turbocharged to its flat 4 configuration...
Yes a boxer.

A flat engine engine doesn't necessarily mean a boxer engine though. That's what I was getting at...I know Porsche uses flat 6 engines, but I didn't think they were boxers.
Might be wrong, as its a small distinction, but I thought it might be one which contributes to that unique rumble (as well as unequal length manifolds).
Wikipedia lists majority of Porsche engines as Boxers (including 911's)

180 Degree V is the other sort of Flat engine

I saw one the other week too, in white. They look rather menacing on the road.Getting back on topic (but still Porsche) - I don't have a picture, but I saw my first Porsche Taycan out in the wild last week. It accelerated quite hard out of a junction as I was stood nearby and it has the weirdest noise. Sounds electric, obviously, but like a bit of a sci-fi, synthesised sound to it. It actually sounded like the cars in Demolition Man
Best video example I could find:
