Apart from the fact he's about 100 time more likely to get hijacked? Just like driving around in a high performance car, you are more likely to get hijacked.
Im sure he would just say "sure take it, no skin off my back"
These things are fully insured and im sure he has had much more expensive loads than that.

You really think the thought if being hijacked was on his mind?

Probably more than the guy at work who had his works motor hijacked a couple of months ago - a transit pickup with a trailer full of mowing machines on the back

It's amazing what some people will nick!

There was a Ferrari owners club at the Southend Airport openday last year. There were two really nice older Ferrari's can't remember what were now.

However right in the middle was a bloomin MR2 with a 355 kit! Why on earth would they let him in the club... unless they didn't know.
The owners' club do various charity days, one of which is a 'donate £20-or so to charity and go for a ride in a Ferrari' type thing. Again, at one last year, there was a bloke in a bodykitted MR2 taking people out. The punters had no idea but he wasn't all that popular with the Ferrari boys.

A bit strong, I think.

Don't be so daft, no more risky than driving around with a trailer full of Mercs or something - just another day at the office for him.

Yes they are nice cars, yes people like us think they are awesome but come on, there probably isn't a single car on that trailer worth more than £10k, technically a delivery of brand new Golf diesels is worth more!

Old Subarus get hijacked. Old Fords get hijacked. Old Mitsubishis get hijacked. Old Nissans are no different.

Admitedly there's nothing more dangerous towing that trailer than one full of other new cars, but thats not to say they don't get hijacked.

I just think we need to move away from this misconception that anything imported is an utterly awesome, awe inspiring liability of a theif magnet.

It's a transporter full of old R33 GTS Skylines and the odd Evo IV. It's hardly going to spawn a daring truck robbery any more than a delivery of new Citroen C4's would.

Yes, we all like them, but that doesn't mean suddenly they are hot property.

And you wouldn't call a Skyline an old Nissan? What do you call an L reg Nissan then?

Andi got it in one... it doesn't matter how old the car is. What matters is the the transporter is full of cars that most people don't see on a daily basis. Some might go as far as calling them quite rare.

I can't remember the time I last saw any 'old' Skyline.

A single skyline more hi-jackable than a new golf? - Yes

A lorry full of skylines more hi-jackable than a lorry full of new golfs? - No

There's a difference to robbing cars for fun etc, and for a profit.

But this has got to be one of the dumbest "discussions" I heard on this forum, and that's saying something :p
