You can get one for £700/month including fuel :)

£750 according to Autocar. First time I've actually done some decent reading on hydrogen power and two alarm bells ring instantly: only three places in the UK to refuel at, and the big one, the tanks which are located under the front seats, are pressurized to 700bar.

Seven hundred.

If that goes wrong it'd be a decent enough sized explosion to warrant a terrorism investigation. You'd be minced in a nanosecond. I'd be reading Toyota's safety protocols VERY carefully.

Im not sure the placement in the car matters, if they go boom unless your seats are lined with several feet of concrete i don't think there would be much of you left.

Yep, price has gone up since Brexit :) You are correct about the pressure too, there are normally several tanks, the main one being under the rear seats and one in the boot, so you'll be fine at the front ;) ( http://www.toyota-global.com/innova...hnology/fuelcell_vehicle/images/sec5_img1.jpg ). They are made from carbon fibre and tested to 2.25 working pressure (1575 bar)

Gotcha, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying.

I'm still sceptical, what sort of impacts can the tanks survive? (this isn't aimed at you btw, this is just me pondering stuff).

Ive no idea im afraid but i would have expected the cars to have been crash tested like any other (NCAP?) and perhaps the tanks themselves to be tested but ive no knowledge of that im afraid.

EDIT:

apparently they fire bullets at the tank....

I am in no way a classic car enthusiast in the slightest, but that Escort is a thing of beauty!

Thanks, I'll pass the admiration on!

First F10 B5 I've ever seen, me like.

Also my time with the Lotus comes to an end this evening, it's been a fantastic few days and I'm now wishing I could justify one as a second car!

If I was filthy stinking rich I'd be all over that **** da peasants! There is something pre-war, 1920s over-exuberance and extravagant about it. But with slightly classier wheels

Is the point of the Maybach that you sit in the back and get driven around?
This a new coupe sports Maybach?
If you wanted to drive I guess I don't see why you would not buy something else.
