Post your DJ setups!

Awesome home setup you have there mate. Do you play out to justify all that gear or is it just a hobby for you ?

Just answered my own question by reading your webpage :)

Yeah I play mainly in London, played at The Fridge, Turnmills, Deep Blue (SE1) amongst many others. Trying to get a few gigs elsewhere in the country now. Got my sights set on Ibiza next year :)

Couple of the pics above have had a CDJ / effects unit / general crap on top of their decks. Definitely highlighting the move away from vinyl. As much as most of us love vinyl (especially hunting it down and physically buying it) CDJs seem to be rapidly replacing vinyl - or at least getting an even footing.

I suppose it makes financial sense, though they cost as much as a pair of 1210s each to buy once you have them it costs much less to purchse.

Some nice set-ups there. Especially loving Plexmans A&H mixer and Liquids Pioneer mixer.

oooh. you've got a djm800  bitcrusher efx is the only reason i would change my current mixer (pmc cx) as i really dont like the build quality of the 600 and im sure the 800 isn't much different, or is it?

and about the vinyl question.. well i love the walm wound vinyl gives and prefer it over cd-r's in ways, but then again i also like cd-r's for reasons.. so i'll always use both as far as i can see.

i use samples, my own loops and productions, and sometimes entire tunes through ableton live in my sets too, but i prefer having media i can touch and see, plus the fact that some of my music styles would die if it wasnt for vinyl

one thing you cant beat though, and imo really keeps vinyl alive, is the crackling and popping of dirt in the grooves over the quiet build-up to that massive break you love so much :D it makes the waiting so much more intense and so when it does kick in, its awsome!

O/T slightly, anybody reccommend a site for used vinyl, other
than that auction site?

Just fancy buying a few in bulk, so someone collection would do
perfect :d

Cheers

Cheers mate, did a Drum & Bass/Jungle set last night with another DJ and a local MC. Will be uploading soon so if it's allowed i'l post the link in here. :)

Wanting to move the decks over to the other side of the loft, with a sturdier table. The needles jump a bit on the left deck at the moment. Also get another monitor and wall mount them.

One part of my loft is lower than the other from where i've been doing sets with other DJ's/MC's and everyone has been dancing!

Havnt got a pic atm but i have:

2 x Pioneer CDJ200's (Soon to be CDJ1000's)
Pioneer DJM500 Mixer
2x 100W Monitors
Yamaha Amp
