nearly every top house and trance dj ive seen in a club over the last 10 years dosn't use the cross fader. its far more precice to use line upfaders when beat mixing. cross facers are for scratching and ive got mine permenantly turned off as there is a switch on A+H mixers to disable it

edit: if your crossfader is removable, and you remove it, your mixer wil still work with just the upfaders on most mixers

balanced basically means 2 inverse copies of the signal are sent (that's why there's 3 wires) so you can have much longer cables and more electromagnetic interference without degrading the sound quality

theres no XLR connectors in that pic so you'll have to use TRS by the loop of it, you need 2 TRS to phono adaptors

the TRS connections could be balanced im not sure

the cable should be fine as long as the connector on your speakers is the opposite of the one on the wire
