2x KAM Direct Drive Decks (I know, I'm sorry)
Numark DM950 Mixer

Had them for about a year, and tbh, haven't used them as much as I'd hoped. I got some new Numark CS-1 cartridges for Christmas, and they don't skip as much as the old Stantons when cueing.

I've also just treated myself to a Numark DM1002 MkII mixer after talking to my step brother about kill-switches. Was searching for the 1002 on eBay as my mate has one... found one for a bargain price so hit BIN.

Can't wait :D

Aye, yeah t'was me :D

I bought a load of vinyl from Smiley just before Christmas actually. I think he's more CD orientated... the wuss :p

A friend of mine has some Ortofon Concorde carts and they're sweet, but I couldn't justify spending £150 on a pair of carts for these, so bought the CS's.

They're suprisingly good. I had to have the old carts (they were the Stanton 500's that you probably had and were getting a bit worn) with a load of weight to keep them in the groove. The Numarks are set at 2.5g and I don't think they've skipped once.

What's the difference between the CS's and CCs?

pffft :p ive got thousands of tunes on cd thats why cd decks are my first priority

gonna be getting a vinyl deck in a few months though (would rather get 1, havent really got room for 2) so it'll all be complete then :D

Knew my decks would be still kicking round Smiley ;)

BTW have a few duplicates after i picked those 122 tunes up!

They were a bargain got some corkers!

Only had a quick play, but the kill switches are a sweet tool to have. SQ seems on the up too, which is always good. I'm pretty impressed with it, especially for what I paid.

finally :D

CDJs into channels 1 and 4 on the mixer, PC running traktor, ableton and virtual dj into channels 2 and 3
hoping to add some vinyl decks in the near future to finish it off :)

edit - new pics

Hurrah! He asked how I found out about him and I mentioned your name but he didn't remember you :/

BB x

Only just seen this, he would have known my ebay username :)

Have you collected yours and set up etc?

Andy

if its similar to virtualdj its easier than using real decks mainly because it beatmatches for you :/

its a mess on using a mouse like but with a controller it should be easy

oh yes its a lot easier than real decks, although i cant talk really seeing as vinyl is harder than cd to beatmatch with :p

LOL how true - no nice LCD dipslay telling you bpm or even beat
matching automatically. Wait till you try it all on your own ;)
