Post your DJ setups!

got myself a few new goodies :D

DJM500 to repace the awful behringer. Seriously, after using this mixer for about 5mins i realised how awful the behringer is, the pioneer is 9 years old and still trounces the 8 month old behringer in every way

Emu 0404 - lovely soundcard :D

sennhesier HD25SPs - really good cans, feel very solid

pics soon :D

havent mixed in ages due to work but work is reason i could afford a djm so i dont mind :p

the new mixer made me realise how utterly crap the behringer is, the sound quality is so good :D

nice gear, probally going to sell my rubbish mixer and get a djm600 when i get my student loan. firstly need a new set of needles, any recomendations? i play mostly electro house.

My dads gear really, but we both use it when we do discos.

Crap pics, but it was dark obviously as we were busy.

Dual CD players on the bottom, 3 cases of CDs to the left and a laptop to the right, attatched to 2 500W speakers, 4 lighting cans, 4 light effects and a front light screen. Lovely bit of kit to use, but i preferred his old 550W speakers, the ones he has now are PVC encased, whereras his old ones were wooden encased and IMO gave a better sound.

edit - Eek, holy thread resurrection by me

Oooh i looked at that mixer before i bought mine :)

How is it?

Andy

It's a really nice mixer. The eq's are spot on, they sound great and have full kills. Faders are fairly smooth. It's definitely feature packed.

However it does have a few issues. There is a bit of lag on the fader if your doing really quick scratches. Also my cross fader doesn't close properly and i've only had it a few months. I need to send it back for repairs.

I'm thinking of trying to change it for a djm 400. However saying all that when it all works properly it is good. Especially as i got it for £150 new.

n' look at my sh**y old kit lol ^^
I'm looking at getting either some stantons or numarks with a pioneer mixer!
probably go with some concords next as I find they feel better than my stantons imo anyway!
don't do cd yeh call me an oldskool dj but there ya go!! hehe
plus I really want to incorperate this setup (old or new) into my workspace with my pc's etc, damn it i'll have to get some more glass desking to run behind me, turning my work/playspace into a u-desk lol! I'll have to wait till next year tho as getting a teac system and new rig in december:(:D

Quick question for all you vinyl DJs: what's the best stuff to use to clean dusty records? I've just had a load arrive and they could do with a once-over.

I've heard that Ronson Lighter Fluid works well, but what brush is best for cleaning? Or is there another combination that works well?

how are you finding the combined weight v's the 'worktop' you've made? from the looks of it there are no supports and you could end up with a nasty mess if it starts to sag!! no offence dude!!;)

Only started a few months ago, need to get a mixer me thinks :), atm I'm just running on Traxtor and a set of Sennheisers, just seeing how i do before I start putting lots of money into it.

I've got that soundcard, admittedly not for DJing but for recording digital spdif out on my vAMP pro thing, still, it's a great soundcard.

ever so slightly off topic...
aside from my obvious fave dj's from the oldskool scene etc this guy is just amazing and he's my fave when it comes down to technique!!
