Post your DSR and VSR sreenshots here

Well the idea of the thread was to show off your DSR images and VSR images and however you wanted to post them was fine by me. It looks better if they are resized without losing quality but that is up to the individual if they want to do that or not. Shame that didn't happen and it turned into another trashed thread but I should know by now that this is the norm for OcUK GPU section.

Yep and Shanks was not to blame. All he did was post his images with instructions only to be jumped upon.

For reference on Google chrome all i did was right click his spoilers and open in new tab. It was very easy to see the differences. This should have been good enough but unfortunately not for some.

I tried in explorer and there is an option but it's greyed out for some reason. Anyhow who uses explorer these days apart from Bru.

Although on a Game like CSGO I wont be changing res any-time soon...
My aim is fine tuned to 1080p..

open each in tabs and flick between them to see the effect.

aaaaaah 64 tick goodness :D

If you open in different tabs you at at the mercy of whatever downsampling techniques the browser uses. you are;t seeing raw images, you are seeing images processed by firefox/chrome etc.

Much beter to load the original high res image in photoshop/Gimp and down-sample to 1080 and apply appropriate amount of sharpening. his is what DSR does.

And that's why I said in my first post! open in TABS to see the EFFECT!

Get it!
Boy that was so hard.

Another reason why you shouldn't edit the raw image is because photo editing software will also add in there own effects like sharpening the image etc...

No you can't see the effect, you see whatever firefox/Chrome/IE deems appropriate for downsampling.

What's wrong with just opening them in a tab? You guys gonna go off on one with Kaapstad for doing the same thing?

Because you have no control over how firefox/chrome does the downsampling and post sharpening. With photoshop you can more accurately replicate what the graphics card is doing and fine tune the sharpening just as with DSR.

Moreover, everyone will get to see the same image. If you let the browser downsample then everyone might be seeing slightly different things all depending on which browser they use.

Yeah, but you can still plainly see the effect of downsampling with the removal of jaggies etc.
Is it the perfect method? No.

Fine tuning this and that with sharpening tools in PS doesn't sound like it's giving you anything more accurate tbh.

ED; Ok, I'm using GIMP and I've scaled to 1080. What is an appropriate amount of sharpening?

Yes it does, at the very least everyone can see a consistent image and can compare side to side.

Best of all would be to post actual screen capture showing the the graphics card is doing wrt sharpening and post processing.

Firefox's downsmapling methods is terrible IMO.
