Post your first pc's specs!

Omg grimm, cryix! Old skool! Lol i remember them, my dad bought a cryix 133mhz but my p90 was twice as fast for some reason, what happened to them i feel wiki attack coming on!

Plethora, i remember when intel used to stick MMX on the end of all the chipsets, i think the range at the time was 166,200,233,266 and 300MMX! Lol

MJN Custom

286sx 12mhz
2mb RAM (was a huge amount at the time!)
I think 20mb HDD certainly wasnt much!
14" CRT
dos 5

cost £2000 ish

ZOMG competitor of years gone by! Ban him! ;)

ZX81

Linky

Yes - I am that old :(

I had one of those, wasn't counting it but ok! Add that to my list, a commodore 16 maybe? and a zx spectrum! I always wanted the sega mega pc but we couldn't afford it at the time!

My first PC paid with my own money and built by the bloke over the road:

AMD k6-2 500MHz
32MB RAM (I think)
20GB Hard drive
Permidia 2 Graphics, with 8MB

Intel 486 SX @ 33mhz, rest of the system I can't remember.

Had a 14" monitor.

(Remember MJN & Dan computers!)

Cyrix 133mhz CPU
16mb RAM
1.2GB Hard Drive
1mb Diamond Monster Stealth 3D (added a 4mb 3DFX voodoo later)

I remember encarta really impressing me when I first got it.

Commadore Plus/4

(From Wikipedia)
OS Commodore BASIC 3.5
CPU MOS Technology 8501 @ 1.76 MHz
Memory 64 kB RAM + 64 kB ROM
Graphics TED (320 × 200, 121 colors)[1]
Sound TED (2 channels, 4 octaves + white noise)

Mine was a Tiny Computer

486 DX 25
4mb Ram
250mb HDD
14" Monitor

The got a Multimedia upgrade kit from Micromart, strangely I think I had software CDs before any music ones.

Best ever upgrade was a Voodoo 3DFX card.

CRT monitors would break at fairly regular intervals.

Prior to the PC, we had an Acorn A3000 with Riscos (wanted an Amiga but this was deemed more educational)

My first was a HP vectra 386, 12mb ram, 30MB hdd, 14" monitor and a single floppy drive. Miss that pc :(

Had a hp vectra with a p120mhz and an almighty 32mb ram not long after that, more importantly it had A CD DRIVE! (500mb hdd too). That desktop case was something special

My dad got me into computers when i was little.

We had an

Amstrad 8086 8mhz
30mb hd
640kb ram
720k floppy
Gemplus os
Star LC 10 multifont printer.

Then got a copy of Dos 5 and Windows 3.

Favourite games were Commander Keen and the original Duke Nukems.

It got really frustrating when Wolfenstein 3D came out as it wasnt capable of running it.

Fond memorys :)
