Post Your Garden!

Had it delivered from a random garden centre locally I came across online.

if you search ‘Glendale Seville pergola’ it should come up in various places. I struggled to find somewhere in stock that would deliver, but got there eventually.

Thank you

Quick question, how did you lay the lawn edging? Did you lay it like a patio, dig down, subbase, etc or just lay in some mortar? Wanting to do something similar. Thanks!

Well, as my bank balance will confirm I haven't lifted a finger but it's been done as a long extension to the patio so dig/base/mortar and it's due to be pointed.

Anyone recognise these plants?

They're in the "woodland" the large leafed plant is prolific next door so it may always be a losing battle.

Also any advice for brambles growing through stuff so any able to dig out? Cut back and paint some glysophate* on them?

* Not sure if that's the stuff but I have a bottle of stuff that will kill most things that should ideally be mixed 1-100water.

So three weeks ago we had a shed... now I don't know if it was something I said or what but the Mrs took a disliking to it ... 3 weeks on it's been dismantled and sent over to my brother in laws who had rebuilt it and painted it / re-felted and I've removed a couple of rows of slabs and re-turfed and in the process of making up some decking since one side of the garden has a slight slope and is practically useless.

Next up will be slab replacement or somesort of reno as I don't really like them... and the removal of the bloomin' "whirly close pole"

Your shed picture has reminded me... I had a quick clear out yesterday and noticed a 'wet corner' in the shed. I refelted it last year and I can't see any roof leaks/the shelves are all solid. I assume it has come from beneath.

Do I cut the corner out and patch, or can I patch over it?

Ahh very good. I assumed you were doing it with the slowly slowly comments.

Looking closer, I can see where it has been dug down. Fun job for me then but better done properly.

Almost done with the decking.

Tomorrow will be
Gaurd Rails
Real Panels
Fascia

Weekend will get it sealed up... and then Monday.... Sleet and snow forecast

No no they've just been taking their sweet ass time...

Anyway, we hit an important milestone today... it's puppy safe so he could have his inaugural run around and eat inadvisable things :)

Got to figure out lighting... I've got hue spots on the patio and garden room but need something along the path... hmm

Question.

Why did you not make a right angle corner at the bottom of the pic? Rather than the random angle you have :p

quite fancied a gradual spread of angle between the slabs and the rear angled fence so thought why not
Thought it would look a bit more interesting and if it was 90 degrees and had the decking boards at an angle id end up with a menace of a corner.
making that edge "jaunty" allowed working toward the fence which required a lot of jiggery pokery to get it to fit snug.

Just waiting to get hold of a truck to get some pre-fabed fence panels for the back and then Roberts yer ma's brother as they say.

Still a long way to go ,but a LOT better than when we moved in a few years ago, I've probably taken 15 conifers out and literally hundreds of coloured heather's

Just started a "woodland" area at one end with some hydrangea, ferns, red robin, laurel and, today, eight silver birch :

The shed is going and the base being enlarged for a 5x3m gazebo

There's quite a bit of lawn, (and on quite a slope) so will probably be creating a few more "areas"

Then down from the lawn is a tiered patio and path area - will be doing something with that at some point too

Then the soil strip is usually used as a veg bed and we have a load of raspberry canes at the end I'm stood too

Loads to do but with the better weather and lighter / longer days should hopefully see some food progress over the coming months :D

Fantastic work it's really coming together now.

Thanks:D and yes feel like we're getting somewhere now

The shed has been removed but there was a LOT of crap under / behind it, paving slabs, brick, granite sets, roof tiles, slate, rolls and rolls of wire mesh, an ind bed (dismantled) and a load of ivy

To be fair, from the latest picture I can see how it would work

Happy with the end result.. painted the panels last night to match the rest of the fence and just need to get a dry day to get the decking oiled (will be less light more oak-ey but btill contrasting the panels .

Probably wouldn't but those rear panels again from B&Q, rough as anything and pretty flimsy.

All in all though, not bad transformation for 3.5 weeks in total.
