Post Your Garden!

Robot mowers cut daily or every other day so clippings are not an issue at all. They are tiny in reality.

As the above person said, they just mulch down and make new grass.

Like the complete moron I am, I forgot to put the succulents in the greenhouse to avoid last nights frost.
Sadly one has died and is on it's way to the great compost heap in the sky, but hopefully I've managed to defrost this one and it'll live..

Has anybody looked into automated drip feeding for plant pots and planters?
Are they worth it?
They certainly take the bother out of watering by hand the only tricky bit is measuring how much is enough so needs a bit of suck it and see to start with but after that its pretty much maintenence free the other possibility is seep hoses which are a godsend in the glasshouse never have to worry about tomatoes drying out or hosing them with water its all automatic controlled by a timer unit either battery or solar

We used to have some small bore plastic pipe set up with drips on a timer on the outside tap. Used it to water the greenhouse when we were away. Worked well, until we extended to the whole garden and the distance etc couldn't sustain the pressure to water the entire garden so cut it back to just the greenhouse again.

@matt100 question for you, did you need to or did you get planning premission for the garden room ? wanting to do something simlar but seems like you need planning for the size (about 12sqm) I want and proximity to the fence.

I didn't no, it replaced an existing building house and I think something to do with the height etc means it's within permitted development. Something like that.

Frankly it's a bit low, like we can't get a decent multi weight thing due to it only being something like 2.1m high

We moved into a new house last year and the front and back gardens had turf laid in early October, it was well watered and seems to be coming through the winter okay, I was wondering if there are any tips for any car needed once things start warming up.

I keep searching online but it’s all for established grass, scarifying etc. which I assume I wouldn’t be doing on such new grass.

I wouldn't worry about scarifying this year. Perhaps you could do it in Autumn but it'll likely be fine until next year.

For such a new lawn you might not need to do anything apart from fertilizer (from March onwards).

You could topdress and overseed to help level and thicken up but, again, it may be ok without for this time.

I scarified and got rid of a load of moss in the autumn and now have got some serious patches. I think I'm going dig up and relay a few of the corners as I think seeding and growing might be a bit of a chore as its quite shaded. Are places started to sell rolls of turf (would only need a handful) yet or is it a little too early?

before and after of mine.

its going to take some work to get this green again and ive not idea where to start. All ive done is cut it so far.
