Ok, hard drives are one of the slowest computer components. Lets see how yours compares. . .

Tell us model, make and specs including buffer size, interface, RPM, and RAID configuration if applicable. :D

Then, post a benchmark using:

HD Tune 2.54: Grab me here!
Or
Hd Tach 3.0 Grab me here!

Here's my effort so far:

74GB Raptor 8mb cache / sata I / 10,000rpm

320GB Seagate Barracuda 16mb cache / sata II / 7,200rpm

Nice results on your new raptor 150, Scoobie Dave, but the temp seems a bit high  I took a spray duster to mine and they dropped by 5c each.

Yeah, I have more airflow now and temps are around 42c for the Raptor. That screeny was also with 4 HD's in my case and I have gone back down to 3 again now which helps.

150GB Raptor, faster than my old 74GB (8mb cache!)

Blimely my Raptor was running at 52c

Now that I have moved the Raptor to a different drive bay it's running at 34c! :D

PEAK II Xtreme2 200X USB 2.0 Flash Drive 4GB

Actually I have just ordered a new Barracuda 7200.10, 320GB

I found it's better to use Flash Memory Toolkit to measure performace. I found HD Tune gave me false readings for my flash card.

Nice. ;)

Is that the the TB version?

With all these new TB hd's coming on the market soon will be interesting to see how they compete against each other, not to mention the smaller capacity drives too! :)

Come on people post them TB bench's :D

Just had to arrange a RMA with my Raptor as I have found out its got loads of bad sectors on it

I knew something was up with it though and its been doing my head in trying work out what the problem was over the last few days. When I was in Vista my Raptor would all of a sudden just disconnect itself, like it could not access properly. The access light on my case would stay on constant and the only way of clearing it would be to turn the pc off completely to let the hd spin up again.

Hopefully the RMA service with WD is good, I have a feeling it is (fingers crossed). I chose the 'Advance Replacement' option with them.

I will have to bench the new Raptor when it comes, would funny if it was faster than my old one!
