How does the speeds for the 320gb samsung seem? In the info tab in hdtune it displays supported mode as, udma mode7 (ultra ATA/512), active mode UDMA mode5 (ultra ATA/100). Thanks for any advice.

Here's a few new benchies from my 6 Seagate Cheetah's (15k.5 models, 73Gb 15k)

6 Drives

With my Adaptec 5805 its not scaling well after 5 drives as you can see and the most I've managed so far is just under 700mb/sec which is good, but a bit under what my 8 15k.5 drives can manage as far as I know..
I'm going to try software raid today to see how that goes and then post up the results :)

Hi Phil,

Some nice results there fella ;) I wonder if you get a chance please could you post results of a RAID 0 using 2 x drives ?

I was getting some low results with my Perc 5i setup and was wondering whether it was just cause of the raid type and number of drives I was using. Would be interesting to see if you got similar results.

Many thanks,

WhiteKnight

WhiteKnight, here's a HD Tach read test of two drives :)
Anything else, please just shout, I have lots of screen shots

Cheers Phil :) what are you adapter settings e.g. Stripe Size, Read Ahead and Write Cache ?

I'm getting <180MB/s with my 2x 15k's (Fujitsu) in Raid 0, thinking it may just be the drives themselves.
