Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Finished redecorating/rearranging :)

Stunning setup that fella.

Some slap-dash pics of my rather quaint set-up (in comparison to some of the lush kit on here):

Kit includes:
Sony 32" CRT - will be keeping it 'til it dies, so no plasma for me for a looong time!
Sony STR-DB795 AV Receiver
Sony NS355 DVD Player
Sky+
Monitor Audio at the front (not sure on model)
B&W 602 S1 at the back
Nintendo Wii

Love that minimilaist/clean style! It's exactly the style my house will be one day :)

Vintage Hi Fi Setup

Pink Triangle PT TOO + Pacesetter Power Supply
Helius Orion MK.1 Tonearm plus Kiseki Blue Goldspot Cartridge
Magnum MP 150 Pre Power Amp
Gale 402 Speakers
Micromega CD Player

Don't make em like they used to . . . .

Cheers Suarve. I have a pathological hatred of chintz, patterned wallpaper, swirly carpets, dado rails, and any of the other nasty stuff you might associate with 70's/80's decor. Minimalism all the way!

No I just need that CRT to pack up so that I can update all the kit...

Thats good danza, i like the big fireplace :D

So do I. The recessed space to the right will be full of logs tomorrow.:D

I've had the Panny plasma a few months now - it's awesome. I'm slightly worried that it'll die when the fire is burning (just ordered 1/2 a tonne of timber), but it should be ok as the chimney breast remains pretty cool to the touch when stuff is burning.

Fingers crossed all the same!

Be very careful with the fire on danza as that will murder your plasma! Could you not ratse the Plasma a couple of feet?

Alas, your post was too late....but the plasma was fine!

I kept an eye on the heat around the top of the fireplace, but could barely tell any difference in the heat around there from anywhere else. The wall gets *slightly* warmish to the touch, under 30C though. The TV is spaced off the wall several inches by the mount anyway.

I spent a while last winter checking whether or not the area was suitable for mounting a plasma when the fire was lit, and came to the conclusion that it probably was, and now seemingly it is!
