Post your panoramas!

Page stretch time:

These were taken free hand with my Olympus E-10 on a hill called Criffel in Dumfries and Galloway. One was at the foot, one was at the top.

There are some very nice shots in this thread! A lot of high quality work and without meaning to miss out those of note, I especially liked Strax's shot of Lochan Nah-Achlaise. Stunning! Great light. I've been up there myself with the camera. I'm almost reluctant to post my own efforts but this is one that's been on my to do list for a while and only finished stitching recently so thought I'd share. Seven shot stitch of The Three Sisters, Glencoe.

I've only ever done one panorama which is my current entry in this months comp, looking at all these cracking shots in this thread I think I need to go back to the drawing board! :D

Thanks Strax. There is some gorgeous scenery up that way. On the day I shot the Sisters, we headed to Rannoch Moor, Lochan Nah-Achlaise and then Loch Lomond on the way back to Glasgow. We were at Glencoe before sunrise but got some cracking early morning light when we got to Rannoch. Love those red tones at that time of the day.

I was so bored at work then I found this thread.

Do you think it would be possible to do a video panorama? I guess it would take some fancy hardware, fancy software and a few cameras plus the thing wouldnt be rendered in real time but it would be mighty cool.

A video panorama would be a very time consuming computational task. Frame syncing multiple cameras isn't that hard with the right pro gear. But to stitch the video would take ages. If you wanted camera movement beyond that then you'd need huge rigs capable of moving several heavy professional cameras! I would love to see one of those mini planet things done in video though!

Anyways... I took some time out while I was slipping down a mountain on some bits of metal/plastic to take a couple of panoramics of my own.

I feel outclassed posting in here! Some awesome shots.

Might aswell post anyway.

My first attempt at a pano, was an unplanned spur of the moment thing, freehand.

Im quite pleased considering, but it feels a bit too blue. Next time i want to make sure theres a nice bit of greenery in the foreground to help balance it up!

Any critism is more than welcome!

Some really cracking shots guys keep it up! :)

I'm heading over to the Wirral and North Wales over the next couple of days so I'm going to try to get some nice high up panoramas from round those ways.

Edit: Andi, what reservoir is that? Looks familiar... is it in the Peak District?

Double Edit: Just clicked through to your FlickR and found out! :p

OOoh Just seen this thread!

Off to the Lakes tomorrow night for a few days (Keswick), never been but presume the scenery will be pretty awesome. Might see if I can be bothered to get the panosaurus out for some nice panoramas of the lakes.
