The seafront at Lossiemouth, Scotland. Taken towards the end of Dec '09.

Thanks (: The dogs even appeared in a couple of the shots so they were like dog ghosts when i stitched them xD

Looking forward to some nice days soon where i might actually be able to take my time, play with settings and use a tripod!

Is there a piece of software to stitch them together for OSX?

Also is a tripod essential for these type of shots?

Taken in Dec 2008 while it was snowing, Times Square NYC.

This is my first attempt at a panoramic stitched from 3 photos shot by me. Camera used is Fiji F610 6mp. Also my first proper use of Photoshop CS4.

How do you lot get the sky to blend nicely? I get visible "joins" in the sky and my attempts to remove them have been less than successful! It's not always a case of different exposure, it's mainly due to the sky colour being different left to right due to sun position :(

how many photos are you taking and how much of an overlap are you using? Think people have mentioned and 25% overlap should iron out the joins better.

About 8 to 10 with a lot more than 25% overlap. As it's just blue tones I guess there is probably a way to fix it in photoshop, I might have a look at other stitching software as well.

edit: Also is everybody using a panorama head? i.e. it lets you pivot about the centre of the lens face? They seem pretty expensive!

Cant say for everyone, but I certainly do on top of the manfrotto 190Proxb.

Nope, nothing flashy, just a focal point as a reference.

Im my Times square scene, I used the 2 flag poles as my reference point. I just then rotated to the left and right keeping the flag poles just in view. That aided my hand stitching of the images.

Hand stitching?!?!?!

Dodgy sky on this one, stopped on the way home from work.

sky looks ok on that image. you can see at the top on the left hand side of djkav's shot where it hasn't been cropped properly and you can see the stitch ;)
