Post your Ps3 Faqs here.

Help needed.

When I play a DVD, and press triangle what should Frame Noise Reduction and Block Noise reduction be set to? By default they were off. What are their purposes?

Load the card into the PS3 and it should show up under the music icon. Then browse to the music and press the Triangle to get a copy menu appear. You can then copy individual files or select "Copy Multiple" which lets you copy more files.

I have used this exact method to load many pictures from my Sony Camera's memory stick pro duo, but I believe the procedure should be the same for any memory card or USB device.

Ok for some reason my ps3 wont pic up the pics straight off the memory duo card so i copied some too a sd card along with some music and vids, now the music and videos are showing up but the pictures still are not. Ive put them in there own folders on the card music, photo and video but still they dont show on the ps3, there is jpeg format taken with a sony camera. Not sure what too try next. :(

I saw this video showing you the XMB on a site that shows.. you game trailers.. , and on the far left of the XMB where it has the 'Users' and the square face, you could change that picture to whatever, is that just US PS3's only?

No, when you are logged in select that user again and then press triangle to get options. Then you have the option to change the display pic and username, you need some pics in your images folder though if you dont want to use standard ones.

I have about a thousand or so photos on my PS3 which I put on there quite a few months ago now, but the way in which they are filed isn't very good tbh. You have historically only been able to file then by date and a couple of other options. Has anyone tried copying photo's over recently and noticed any improvements, like if you have a small indexed folder system on the source i.e. SD card etc, can you copy this across?

Havent read the full page so sorry if this has been posted already...

Anyway im thinking of getting a PS3 from America when my parents go to Las Vegas in June.

Now what I need to know is will the American console work fine over here (apart from the obvious voltage difference) and will I be able to buy UK peripherals to use on an American console. Im assuming the games are region locked the same as Blu-Ray movies.

Also would I be able to set up a UK ps network account on the console?

Thanks

Us console will work fine and dont even need a stepdown voltage converter - just use a standard PC kettle lead but pop a 3a fuse in it.

UK peripherals should work fine.

Games are NOT region locked so you can play UK games on an import console. Some BD films, whilst they show as being region specific are not actually locked either - there's a list floating about online somewhere.

Uk PSN account should be fine too although I would reccomend setting up both US and HK accounts too to get extra downloadable content etc.

Yes, it's interesting this time round that none of the games have the PAL/NTSC-U/NTSC-J monikers nor the spiel about "this game is designed for consoles with the PAL designation". Truly region-free.

Havent seen anyone mentioning it but just downloaded a few movies and if you press the PS button while watching it plays in the background of the XMB. Probably mentioned somewhere but i cant find it. I thought it was cool anyway!!

ive came against an annoying problem. I want to try and run some movie files from my portable hard drive. It dosent read it in NTFS mode - so i formatted it to FAT32 - but then i cant have any files bigger than 4gb which these are (as high def files).

Is there any workaround - they dont read when i burn them to disk either (unless i need to burn them a specific way and im not doing it correctly).

Its annoying as they work the 360 - but i dont like watching the 360 for movies thanks to the noise it makes.

I believe it's just limitations via software, however your best bet is simply to cut the file in half, it won't take long to swap between 2 files on the same storage, it may even play video's in sequence so you wouldn't notice. (I haven't tried yet).
