Post your uni room thread!

I've only known my housemates for about 3 weeks. Feels like I've known them months.
Just glad we don't have anyone who is really irritating on our floor.

Whats so bad about that? You don't know them to start with, but after a year of living with each other you'll know them. It really isn't so bad unless you get a psycho living with you. And yes you get your own room.

It's just sharing a shower and stuff that I don't quite fancy.

I was wondering(to those of you who don't have cars), you all have your PC's, televisions and stuff in your rooms, how did you get them to your accommodation?

Parents took me and my stuff in the car.

Why is sharing a shower/bathroom so bad? It's just like at home where you have to share with your family. It's not like they force you all in at once like the army.

So, you stay in a house with 5 people you hardly know and share a toilet and shower etc with them. Wheres the fun in that?
Do you even get a room each?

I stayed in a flat with 7 other people I didn't know in my first year of uni - was a fantastic year. 5 years down the line and I'm still best mates with 2 of them.

What did you expect uni houses to be about? 5 bedroom/5 bathroom mansions with butler and stables?

I had a mate at uni who had to travel from Southampton to Manchester with everything he needed for the year by train. Being a CS student, that included huge tower PC complete with 17" CRT. No idea how he managed it!

Could just hire a transit van and driver, that's what a mate did because he had so much stuff.

I'm planning on going to uni in London. Might be a bit costly hiring a van and driver.

I'll look into things nearer the time.

Thanks anyway :)

Just tidying now. When i'm done i'll post a pic :). My rooms quite good tbh, no idea what size i is but 4-5 people can have a game of hackey in the middle.

Here is my room at Portsmouth, sharing a flat with 2 other people, very close to the union

My room is so stupidly tiny in my uni house, nearly half the size of my room the year before, I'll post a pic later when I get round to tidying it up a little.

My current uni room (in a flat with 6 people), couldn't be bothered to tidy it up. Ignore the horrid curtains :p
