Post your uni room thread!

At uni, do you share accommodation with other people? Do you need to share bathroom facilities etc aswell? I wouldn't be able to stand having to share a bathroom with someone else.

I live in a house with 5 others, we have 2 bathrooms between us. Its not ideal but you get used to it.

Same, Im in a house with 5 of us, 1 bathroom.. £48 a week inc all bills though :) Its student life and you get used to it. Its a fair bit different from living in Halls last year but its still great fun.

Is there anyway around this? If you stay in those university halls, aren't you provided with a room and bathroom to yourself?

I'm enjoying living in my house this year than I did in "halls"* last year.

*They weren't technically halls as they weren't run by the university, and they were a bit boring compared to proper ones.

If you pay (sometimes substantially more) for it, then yeah, you can get a room and bathroom to yourself. You're usually only in halls for 1 year though and live in a house for the other 2 years. You'd be very lucky to get a house with all ensuite bathrooms (and you'd really pay for it).

It's one of those things you get used to. It's just the same as living at home with your family or something.

my rooms still a complete tip, its more or less like living in a caravan, hell the bed looks and feels like it was procured from one...as does the "shower pod"

So, you stay in a house with 5 people you hardly know and share a toilet and shower etc with them. Wheres the fun in that?
Do you even get a room each?

*Is not afraid to show the mess*

Hell - I'm here to get a degree and have fun, not to tidy my room ;)

Theres 7 of us on our floor. 2 bathrooms, it isn't too bad really, theres one kid who lives quite local so he isn't here that often, only stays here when he has a lecture early the next morning.

The bed in here is pretty crap, although not as bad as the sheets we were given which where really itchy and nasty, so got my own ones on there now.

Our whole flat gets along really well, which is funny as were all really different backgrounds.

I'm liking the way my room has come together this year. 28" widescreen TV, surround sound, Sky Digital (only the free channels mind you), double bed, walk in wardrobe, wireless net and occasional visits by a Lindsey Lohan look-alike Fresher :D

Oh and i also have a PS2 in a white see through plastic bag. Haven't been bothered to set it up yet. Oh and my old TV is on the floor. Should have tidied up maybe.

Two angles on crap camera phone:

I'm at College at the moment and don't need to travel far, so I stay at home. I'll be going to uni next year though.

Living with people is fun, trust me

Whats so bad about that? You don't know them to start with, but after a year of living with each other you'll know them. It really isn't so bad unless you get a psycho living with you. And yes you get your own room.
