I'm still waiting for my V5 registration =\
Yes, I appreciate thats how it used to be and I've tried to show over the past ten years how it's changed.I'm sorry to say it Jeff, but it's been years in the coming. When I was working for RM, the inefficiencies were staggering. Postmen who were working for about 4 or 5 hours a day then sitting at home with their feet up and getting paid docket (overtime) on top of that as well.
Ghosting overtime I assume you mean? Again this is long gone.Christmas pressure - Posties getting paid extraordinary amounts of overtime for simply carrying a few more letters. Again, most of them got to get home early, yet were claiming docket for overtime that they never worked!
If you'd have said that back then then you'd be right on the money, however, things have changed big style and you'd be surprised at the differences if you were to do the job now.I think it's about time that RM had a kick in the pants and the posties brought into the real world where they actually have to do an honest days work!
Be a postman?Stuff
I agree - Royal Fail... A business that is destined for the scrapheap...

I agree that management of the company was also quite poor. The management structure alone was designed to incorporate incredible amounts of red tape. Imposing things like no paper for office printers to save money meant that some people simply could not produce anything when they went to work.

Letters I have no problem with. Anything too big for the postie to carry though is another matter. 1st class parcels are taking weeks to turn up
Not sure what the problem is there.
Im trying recorded and special delivery now to see if thats faring any better. Maybe 1st class recorded will arrive next day
Seems to be a few posties in this thread, a question for you.
If a signed note is left asking the Postman to leave mail that requires a signature in a *safe place* to save on a trip to the depot is he allowed to do that? Or must he get a scribble on his clipboard.
Try quoting my response with that kind of reply because I can tell you whats happening now, he's telling you what happened years ago. Massive changes have been made since then you know! This, very good words spoken there.
He needs a scribble on his clipboard. Signed for services are for the benefit of the sender, not the recipient, after all they want confirmation that what they've sent has been recieved. If a signed note is left asking the Postman to leave mail that requires a signature in a *safe place* to save on a trip to the depot is he allowed to do that? I would be happy getting no post for a year if it meant all these posties got what was coming to them and were fired.
Im off to coldplay at wembley tomorrow. My friend dropped out because he forgot it was his sisters wedding so I sold my spare standing tickets for face value + postage on the bay. I took it to the post office 9am monday morning and sent it 1st class recorded delivery (1-2 working days).
I've tracked it online and it still hasn't arrived! Anyone know where I stand with this if it doesn't turn up to the winner on time?
