Potential power outages this winter

bath water - isn't the point that the body in the bath (silicon excepted?) is the path of least resistance to complete the circuit with the earthed plug-hole -
you are toast if you are bathing in dlockers new house with no CU rcd's.
Most waste water plumbing is plastic these days, the proper copper or lead stuff is too expensive, too polluting, too every damned thing. It's getting harder and harder to bump the wife off ;) Luckily I think it highly unlikely dLockers will be inviting me around for a free scrub down :)

Do you feel the need to whinge about it on the internet? Wear a chip on your shoulder? Feel bad that your kids have it better?

Edit: I guarantee my kid has it much better lol. I'm not lazy enough to get my daughter to scrape my window from ice because I'm three sheets to the wind and need to order my wife around, lol.
not sure what i stumbled into the middle of so maybe missing some contex .............. but that wasn't what the guy I was replying to was doing was it? sometimes it's easy to miss tone in written text but...........
arguably my parents generation as a whole may have been many things... but lazy is not one of them.

Anyone is welcome to dLockers abode as long as they bring tools or beer. I do need a new CU as @jpaul rightly pointed out, showering with a broken power shower is playing with fire each morning.

Edit: but not Saturdays as I am baby sitting because my wife is seeing her BF.

Schrodinger's Boomer, wants the youth of today to experience the hardships of their youth, while simultaneously denying them the same pension and housing experience. ;)

I remember when the gasometer was a common sight in every town. They were probably cut up and sold to China. Our self sufficiency in general is now risible. Our endeavours to addres the situation in a timely manner will also no doubt be risible.

Can't blame China.
Around the Midlands they were cut up and houses built on the land.
It's happening just off spaghetti as we speak, 3 x 180+ year old gas holders cut up.
They haven't been used to store gas since 2012 so not a new thing.
The land is being sold and i reckon by next xmas the first houses will appear.

Gas is stored under pressure in the pipes these days, gasometers aren't needed anymore.

Rough yes 2 days of gas storage in re-opened Rough is not going to keep us going for long when we are usually importing ~50% of yearly use,
will be interesting if spot prices/octopus go up as they start to fill it up.

Gasometers were used to maintain local pressure not for long term storage - pressure is now maintained within the pipes hence why they are no longer needed.
For the uninitiated, the upper part of the gasometer floated on the gas column below, creating and maintaining the pressure in the pipework.
