Isnt that bad for the psus life?A little trick after you turn it off at the wall hold the power button in for 10 to 15 secs then turn it off at the back that will fix your problem
It will literally do nothing. The two switches are directly next to each other in the circuit design. Switch one off is the same as switching another, electrically.Isnt that bad for the psus life?
Yea but it drains something.. i forgot what it is.but that apparently kills its lifeIt will literally do nothing. The two switches are directly next to each other in the circuit design. Switch one off is the same as switching another, electrically.
The capacitors are all AFTER the rear power switch. Switching off at the wall or switching off at the PSU, same result.Yea but it drains something.. i forgot what it is.but that apparently kills its life
I think jonnyguru said that switching it off at the wall AND having something plugged into the PSU that is still pulling current is what drained the caps.
must admit it scared the crap out of me when it went bang upon turning on,especially since im fully watercooled,i had visions of my 1080ti,mb and cpu all bursting into flames etc all within 0.001 second of it going pop lol
Yea johnnyguru said something about draining the caps while its off isnt good... or something like that...The capacitors are all AFTER the rear power switch. Switching off at the wall or switching off at the PSU, same result.
My HX850i made a popping noise for a while when tuning on the plug at the socket.
What psu
What psu & when did it happen?
As above, Corsair HX850i, and it broke in June. I got it new as a warranty replacement in Nov 16, so it wasn't all that old. Unfortunately it wasn't under warranty, as the HX850 it replaced was from 2010 when the warranty was only 7 years.
