Power to weight ratio of your car?

Thats actually a really impressive power to weight ratio - how comes its so slow with a power to weight ratio like that? I'd be expecting more than 9 seconds to 60 out of it, thats about what my old Mondeo did it in and that was 110bhp/tonne..

Do you know what's more weird. The book figure for the new 2012 Yaris 1.3 has like 98bhp and it can do 0-60 in 9 secs too...according to Toyota.

iv had one of my plans

if you cut 2 holes in the floor of the car and used your feet i reccon you might get 8 seconds or 7 and a half if the front passenger was running too!

Another option could be that the book figure is to reduce insurance premiums. The Peugeot 306 Gti-6 has a book figure of 8.5 seconds but its power to weight is more like 150ish.

167bhp and 1215kg so 137bhp/ton!

Evo have it timed at 7.2 seconds to 60.

Amazing what a short ratio gearbox and a highish revving engine will do!

I doubt it's very fast with that power to weight ratio though. Theres no person, let alone a hand to twist the throttle :p

Evidently no eyes to read the title either?

Did you include a 'person' with your cars figures ?

This is why this thread fails, everyone is pulling figures out of bottoms

Not to mention bikes are banned from it as it makes all the car owners feel slow and mediocre ;)

yes amazing, 7.2 to 60, man you could be launched into orbit with that kind of acceleration :D, or better still overtaken by a OAP on a zimmer at the lights

Seriously, nobody cares or is impressed by bikes being quick. ANYONE can go and buy a 2k bike and laugh at how slow cars are blah blah. Change the record.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

My post about the thread being flawed and then sarcastic one was a response to someone having a dig at a bikers figures as he had no rider included, then someone being overly excited at mediocre performance

I then thought it worthwhile mentioning that most people here have not done the same... sure it doesn't make much odds on a 2 ton car, but if your car weighs just under a ton for example, you will be coming on 10% out on your figures. Of course none of you will see the flaws as you are all too busy massaging each others egos.

End of day this is a car thread, though many bikers have posted in it (inc me)... as someone just said, anyone can go out and buy a bike with crazy high figures, why many of you don't man up and do the same I'll never know, rather than sit on interweb getting mildly orgasmic at 167.567876655 bhp/tonne

Ban me, seriously, I really couldn't give a monkeys :), there is a bike forum, but it's a dull place full of people called 'dave' and trevor' and it's far more fun posting in here

Anyway, best get back on topic, it maybe flawed as a thread, but it's still a good read, just don't get over excited at anything less than 200 bhp/tonne, coz it just isnt
