Power to weight ratio of your car?

My car weighs 1137kg, and is between 194 and 201bhp seemingly based upon what gear and what day it runs on the dyno!

If I'm optimistic its therefore 176bhp per ton.

Yeah, mine was the red beemer up on the ramps. They had to clear access to it though as gibbo's mond..... jaaaaaaag broke the ramps they had it on to do his drop links.

Proper job, all four corner weights taken and of course overall weight. Turns out despite losing 150kg, the 50/50 weight distribution in all directions is only a couple of a percent out in any direction.

The toy...

TVR Sagaris

Power: 406 bhp
Weight: 1078 kg

Power to weight: 367 bhp/ton

the runaround...

TVR Cerbera

Power: 391 bhp
Weight: 1120 kg

Power to weight: 349 bhp/ton

HI there

Can't remember if I inputted on this or not:-

Anyway the 911:-
Manufacturer claims 355BHP & 1390kg which equals 255BHP/tonne

Realistic figures for my car are 378BHP & 1420kg which equals 266BHP/tonne. :)

Realistic figures are from last dyno car had after many X51 goodies and 1420kg is from when my car was sitting on corner scales to check the weight. :)

Snap,

The XFR has officially 504BHP & weighs 1891Kg which equates to...266BHP/ton

:)

That could be one very interesting race then in a straight line.

Whats the 0-100mph on yours, any ideas? Best time clocked for a 997 C2S is I believe 9.4s and most seem to be 9.7-10.3s :)

Having owned a 570BHP car, the Mustang it would simply kill the 911 once moving, but in fairness that did weigh only 1620kg, never knew the Jaguar was nearly 2 tonne.

Still I think once moving the horsepower of XFR should come into play, I'd expect you to win, though might be very close.

Theres a table in this months Evo where they compared the new M5 new E65, XFR and Panamera S I'll dig it out in the morning and see what it says.

I know the Jag really struggles off the line if your not very careful as the engine is torque limited to stop it trashing the gearbox, something like 460lbft from 2500-5500 rpm.

Haha the 911 has no such issues as its maximum torque is about 300lb/ft, but getting it off the mark is easy having the engine over back wheels. Revs upto 2000rpm and just let the clutch out and nail the throttle and off ya go. Never tried a full 5000-6000rpm launch like the manufacturers do as I value my clutch and the method I do gets me 4.8s on my Vbox too 60 so happy enough with that, no point in hammering the clutch/drivetrain for the sake of a couple more hundreds of second. :)

My diseasel civic weighs about 1350kg (apparently)

Original Bhp 140

Now 182 apparently (could be a bit of the rolling road lottery going on here but lets believe it)

original 103.7 bhp/t
mapped 134.81 bhp/t of stinky diesel goodness
