Dual Core 4800+ @ 2.7Ghz // DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR
X1800 XT 512mb downgraded from 2x7800GTX 256mb
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX // Viewsonic 19" 2ms
X-Fi Elite Pro // Logitech Z-5500 //

See what I mean...

Anyway, temps should be about 50-55 idle and load about 70-75 (well they were when I had one). The CCC has always sucked - we demand the control panel back!!!

Why not use a CP from an old set, all you have to is install just the drivers, then install a CP from a previous set, jobs a good'un, or use ATi Tray Tools. :)

Go into the Overdrive to read the temps.

I went onto the CCC Panel, and unlocked overdrive..

I clicked automatically configure thing, and the pc locked up about three mins into it

But when i use Ati Tool BETA, it brings up a box saying you have X1800 XT
something about 2d/ 3d

so i didnt bother using it.. can anyone please explain what this means ?

card has 2 or more modes, when its just ideling on desktop it doesnt need to be on full so it will use 2d mode, when you load up a games then it kicks into 3d mode.

i think....THINK you pick the 3d mode then overclock it so that whn ** in games and 3d mode starts you get ** overclocked settings

you need a program called ati tool and overclocker get them, ati tool is for voltage adjustments and general monitoring use overclocker to clock the card - by selecting 3d mode

well first the dell2405 sucks for gaming, iv had it twice and sold it twice. I play cod with 333fps but with this card it stays there a lot more then the GTX's did. So i still stand by that.

Couple of points.

1. The Dell Doesn't suck at gaming its one of the best mointors you can buy!

2. You play COD with 333 fps, lol. Your eye's won't be able to interpret anything more than 100 FPS at best, probably a lot less. Some info to give you a bit of perspective :)

A standard TV
"PAL is the alternative color and video size encoding system used in video. The PAL television system is usually used with a video format that has 625 lines per frame (576 visible lines, the rest being used for other information such as sync data and captioning) and a refresh rate of 50 Hz, 25 fps (frames per second). PAL non-television video (cinema usually) are typically recorded at 24 fps. All PAL television video should be captured or encoded at 768x576 or 720x576 at 25 fps (frames per second). All PAL DVD video should be encoded at 720x576 for full screen at 25 or 24 fps. PAL widescreen sizes may vary."

"HDTV
High-definition television means broadcast of television signals with a higher resolution than traditional formats (NTSC, PAL) allow. Except for early analog formats in Europe and Japan, HDTV is broadcast digitally, and therefore its introduction sometimes coincides with the introduction of digital television (DTV). HDTV is usually broadcast in the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio format.

The format 720p60 is 1280x720 pixels, progressive encoding with 60 fields (30 frames per second). The format 1080i50 is 1920x1080 pixels, interlaced encoding with 50 fields (25 frames per second). Often the frame or field rate is left out. It can then usually be assumed to be either 50 or 60, except for 1080p which is only supported as either 1080p24, 1080p25 or 1080p30 by current technology. 333fps is a "sweet spot" for optimal physics in Quake3 engine games like CoD, it's got nothing to do with what the eye can perceive.

Personally I'm not convinced that 100fps is the limit on what some people can detect. Take a gander at http://amo.net/NT/05-24-01FPS.html

Sorry but IMHO I think that's rubbish .Don't believe you could tell the difference between 100 and 333 FPS.

I can definitely recommend this card. Great value for money. I flashed mine to x1800xt pe, and I score 9579 points in 3dmark 05 with x2 [email protected]. I didn't buy it in the uk though, but it's the same thing ;)

And to read the temps without that ghey ccc thingy use SysTool

Am not surprised. At low res your cpu limited..So it would take more cpu power to run daul cards..

Plus what has the dell2405 sucks at gaming have to do with the fps you get...

If the dell 2405 suck so much..Why you buy another one after your first one  ..Surely you would learned from the first one if you found them that bad..

If i brought a monitor that i thought sucks at gaming i sure wouldn't go and buy another one the same..
