(Practically) New car time!

The LSD is in the gearbox, not the engine.

Yes I'm aware of that.. What I meant was the Engine and Gearbox came from an accident damaged donor :p

The car was originally an N/A Model but now has a turbo clip fitted. The suspension and brakes differences between the N/A and Turbo models are only very slight.

I chose this over a V6 conversion a) Because the overal power between the standard N/A V6 lump and the 3SGTE is reportedly similar b) The V6 option would've costed me an extra £1k over what I paid for this fitting

i've done same but with v6 option, it just sounds so nice ;) first time i taken the t-bar out this weekend and i could hear it for my self :D, but mine had loads of work done, but still looks like a NA

I did think quite heavily about what engine I wanted to have fitted - I finally decided that if I went the V6 route, then there was very little that *I* could do the engine in order to make improvements to it. I know you can have the heads ported and there's even a Turbo V6 in the UK now, but it's all fairly labour intensive work compared to bolting bits onto an existing engine.

I still love the V6 roar though :)

i can understand that, its still early days on v6 for MR2, my next thing will be forged pistons will give me crazy power :D

i've got a few things changed now, v6, Air Filter, Link G3 ECU, Mono Flex Coilover (Tein), Pillow Ball Tension Rods (Tein), EDFC Electronic Damping Force Controller (Tein), Whiteline Uprated 20mm Front/Rear Anti roll bar 3 position adjustable, Polyurethane Bushes, Carbotech Brake Pads, Braided Brake Lines, Mongoose inc De-cat , Revision 6 Low Rise Quad Headlamp Conversion, TRD Quick shift , Pioneer avic d3 Head Unit and Road Angle. i think thats about it all on a rev 5;)

I'm still at the beginning levels of modification on mine :D

*Braided brake lines
*Poly suspension bushes
*Ind Kit
*Fujitsubo exhaust backbox inc Decat (not pictured)

Plans are to replace the I/C and eventually upgrade the turbo to a CT20b from a Celica ST205 (Steel shafted I think) before playing with boost pressure and eventually a remap.. These rising fuel costs are going to kill me :o

v6 i only get 120-150 miles per tank, :( (on N/A got 200 max)

braided brake line are great with carbotech brake pads, i also got refurb brake calipers all around and motul RBF 660 i push my car way to much i eat 2x sets of carbotech pads per year :(

i think best change was tein mono flex coilover, you can just keep pushing it now with r888 tyres, its so easy to correct :D

you should really look at improving the handing, more fun then going fast in straight line (70mph) :P

I used to average anywhere between 300 and 330 miles to a 45L fill up depending on the road conditions.

I once managed 42mpg on a long run though :D

thats just gay, you made me work out my mpg its 15, :(

with na its 20 MPG, i once did do 240 with NA, all motorway non stop made me really happy, not now reading your post :(

Nice one!

I bet its one hell of a difference when compared to the N/A? I, too, would have went for the turbo over the V6 if I had to. The V6 sure does sound nice, though.

MPG can be a bit of a pain. I get about 200 miles from £40 of 97 RON when I drive normally without flooring it much.

For an N/A figure (esp a rev5) that's really unhealthy! Do you cruise at 100mph or something :p

The book figure is a combined 35mpg for the later 3SGE engines (rev3 onwards). Are you sure your brakes aren't binding or something?

[Edit] The plan is to keep the outside looking standard - largely because I like the original styling of the Mk2 shape. The only bit that I think I'd change would be the "sleepy-eye" quad highlight conversion just to lower the pop-up profile slightly

i think my problem is where i live, roundabout city :(
i love getting to 70mph quick too, but that then means hitting the brakes lots

v6 will shine soon just wait and see, just no one really tried anything, i'm always first/2nd to try new things

problem with v6 is the crap ecu they fit, its a automatic and they make it think its in 1st all the time, just don't work :(

link ecu, changed it loads but again no one knows what they are doing

same, the only thing i've change outside is revision 6 low rise quad headlamp

makes the car look up2date, plus standard lights slow you down :(
