I for one would be very freaked out because he is still waving his card reader at me.

Also RJK, when I try to quote one of your posts, I get this message "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

I really think you guys need to look at your pre order policy.

To expect full and probably over payment, for something that does not come out for months is just wrong.

In my opinion it makes OCUK look stupid... sorry.

Hey RJK,

Is the price on the website the official price? Also if not how do I get the difference back??

Stelly

the official price is yet to be announced.

the difference will be credited to each account upon us setting our price which will be in line with RRP.

in your case though Stelly, no refund would be issued.

this is the price that you have to pay for my friendship.

That sums it up nicely!

I'm not attacking OcUK but being honest. It seems really old fashioned for 2013 to be charging for something they don't know. I'm a regular customer with American shops for non computer items and they have a system in place that they don't charge you as others have said until it's been delivered to their warehouse. I mean, it's really common. Sometimes if it's a specialised product you've to put a non refundable deposit for $20 - $30 and charged within 24 - 48 hours and that can be for a product thats $1,000 to $2,000. They never ever charge you the full amount until it's ready.
Some of these shops even notify you by email that within 10 - 22 days whatever they feel you need to know and on the specific date thats when you'll be charged.

No shop have I ever been with that plucks numbers out of thin air, charges you right now, refunds you the difference or chases you for more money nearer the time because they got it wrong. Chases? seems such a bad term for electronic payments. With these shops, if you can't pay or card whatever payment is declined. Timeout period to amend details, if not. Order cancelled. Thats just tough on the NRD because before the buy now/order placed, you've to agree to their NRD terms.

These shops have machines in place thats automatically billed when the orders are ready for processing. Even when new products are being showcased, the shops don't put them up until the manufacturer has given all the details of the product. Thats including price. Then it's mass flood pre-order time.

I was having a video discussion on Skype 45 minutes ago and a few others were saying, madness. You're stupid to be placing an order with full payment put down with so many shops that only charge you when it's ready to be processed and shipped.

Fair play to people that are doing it. It's their money. I just cannot get my head around refunding the difference or charging more if you don't know the price. When so many shops around the world only list their products when they have all the details.

BBC must be talking out of their arse then! Sony have said they don't want to make the same mistake they made with the PS3 in releasing it at too high a price point, so they're releasing the PS4 at a price point below the PS3.

Partly why they went for typical almost off the shelf X86 hardware too, so that they didn't have to spend silly money on R&S to allow them to keep the release price down.

I think you need to check the placeholder price on the PS4 on that big rainforest site, it's currently exactly the same price as the Xbox One! That means that either Sony were lying out of their **** when they said it was going to be cheaper, or more likely the placeholder price is deliberately high to cover the retailer against any loss.
